Members Kayla
Isn't that what I am doing. I am reading a book about the civil war in Missouri.
Members John81
I hope you got an accurate book and not one filled with propaganda. The War in Missouri was complex and actually began well before the outbreak of "civil war" in the rest of the country.
Members Kayla
Yep. I just started it today. It is crazy how people think the civil war was about slavery really it wasn't.
Members John81
If that book tells the truth about Quantrill I'll be impressed!
Members Kayla
Quantrill got a bad rap.
Members John81
That's a fact that's most often not put forth in books or movies.
Members Kayla
I only know because of family history. He's our distant relative, we actually had some relatives in his gang.
Members John81
Cool :thumb Most of my relatives fought in the Army of Northern Virginia or the Army of Tennesse; those in the AoT were in the cavalry.

Members John81
The guy who portrays Stonewall Jackson in the movie God's and Generals does an EXCELLENT job!
Members Kayla
I haven't gotten to see it yet, I read the book and thought it was good.
Members John81
God's and Generals is one of my all-time favorite movies. It's one of the most accurate movies dealing with this subject and the Christian life of Jackson is put forth so well that it's inspiring. Members John81
I found it on sale in a bargain rack. After having seen the movie, I would willingly pay full price for it!
