Members tired
I loved the Searchers. It was so ahead of it's time. It came out in 1956 and it's message about racism was so good. And the Duke was great.

Members tired
I never did either I always liked Clint Eastwood westerns but I started watching some of John Wayne's movies and they are good. I really like most of his westerns and some of his war films.
Administrators HappyChristian Posted August 8, 2007 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2007 My hubby is a great fan of westerns. He does like John Wayne, but we don't watch his movies because of the language.

Members John81
Oldies but goodies! Certainly much better than the abundance of drivel that comes from Hollywood these days!
Administrators HappyChristian Posted August 8, 2007 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2007 yep!! Hubby and I were just looking through oldies.com last night. They go back to the 50's with movies and tv shows. Pretty neat.
Members John81
When growing up, John Wayne movies were about the only ones Dad would watch.
Administrators HappyChristian Posted August 8, 2007 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2007 We didn't watch a lot of tv. Once our tv went on the blink and it was a long time before we ever got another one. We didn't care - too busy with school, playing, reading and enjoying life to miss it! Members John81
About the only time Dad would have the TV on was if he wanted to watch the news or weather and if a John Wayne movie was on. Other than that, Dad never was much for TV. As a child, I spent most of my time outdoors.
