Members 2bLikeJesus
Ewwwww...to anything from McDonalds. Â I would rather have HC's fried abominations. Â Â I have been a bachelor now for over 20 years and before I learned how to cook, (some training professionally, some by mom, some by trial and error), I would only eat from the "Four Basic Food Groups" for a bachelor. Â Those food groups are: Â Dine-in, Take-out, Catered, and Microwaved. Â If it didn't fit one of those food groups, I didn't eat. Â Now, I have to be really really desperate and ready to sell my birthright before I will eat fast food. Members John81
I tried real hard to find HCs Fried Abominations establishment but all I found was McDonald's. I do like their McChicken sandwiches and their tea. HappyChristian
Administrators HappyChristian Posted September 11, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 11, 2014 Rest assured I wouldn't charge you $3 for your meal, John. And you'd like it better than Mickey D's. I decided to fix french fries to go with my hub's dogs. Reckon I should boil 'em - the fries - since frying is so intolerable? Heh. Members Invicta
Today I did sea bass fillet, baked with olive oil and lemon juice and topped with kumquat slices, served with crinkle cut fries and salad. Members 2bLikeJesus
I am in the mood for Chinese food tonight, but I am a lousy cook when it comes to Chinese recipes, so I guess I better head for Kowloon Restaurant tonight. Administrators HappyChristian Posted September 12, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 12, 2014 Hmm...I'll have to get some of my recipes for you - very easy and tasty. Â Tonight we'll be having fish, potatoes (haven't decided just how to fix them yet), and corn on the cOB.
Members 2bLikeJesus
Here is my prOBlem with Chinese food cooking...I like much of my Chinese food on top of or with Fried Rice....I just can't bring myself to making fried rice, and having tried, I fail at it miserably every time. Â Just no practice frying things...
Administrators HappyChristian Posted September 12, 2014 Administrators Share Posted September 12, 2014 Ah, I see.  You do know that fried rice is only stir fried, right?  You're missing out on some good foods by not learning to fry some things.  Do you not like fried chicken? Members ThePilgrim
You want a good chinese food recipe?  Sweet & Sour Chicken  Breading Breasts 3 chicken breast filets 1 cup corn starch 2 eggs , lightly beaten 1/3 cup canola oil salt and pepper, for dredging  Sauce 3/4 cup sugar 4 tbs catsup 1/2 cup vinegar 1 tbs soy sauce 1 tsp garlic salt  Chicken Breading  1. Rinse chicken, trim off fat, then cut in 1 inch pieces.  Salt & pepper and dip into corn starch and then egg.  Heat oil in large skillet.  Cook chicken until browned.  Sauce  1. Put all ingredients into bowl and whisk until smooth.  Pour over chicken in 9" by 13" baking pan and make sure both sides of chicken are coated.  Place in oven and bake for 60 minutes turning chicken pieces every 15 minutes.  Cooking Time: 1 hour  Oven Temperature: 350°F  I serve this over rice or along with my chow mein stuff.
