Hello all. This is my first time on a Baptist forum so please go easy on me as I learn the rules. :idea: I believe that the AV Bible is the preserved word of God to the english speaking people and that it is the sole authority by which we can know God. I was born again 6 years ago and miraculously saved from a life of athiesm. I believe that God is entirely responsible for the security of the believer's soul and so thereby there is nothing the believer can do to remove himself from grace. However, God gives everyone their own free will to accept or reject him. You are not an elect until you have been born again. It's like getting on a plane, the destination is the same and the plane is promised to go there, but everyone has their choice if they get on that plane or not. I believe in the trinity and that each part of the trinity have been eternally existing in their current role. I believe that God's word is more then just a rule book; it is a love letter to his people whereby we can draw closer to him while still on this earth. I believe the church started in Matt. 4 when Christ said, "Come follow me, I will make ye fishers of men." I believe the church is a local body of believers whose head is Christ and whose authority is God's Word and to whom the Bible has certain promises for. I believe it is the responsibility of every believer to join themselves to a scriptural church and this is the place whereby we can serve Christ. I am willing to change my stands only if there is clear evidence in the scriptures to support doing so.
