Members Bakershalfdozen
Does anyone have a secret ingredient they use in some dishes? (I know, I know; it won't be a secret any longer  ) We made a chocolate cake when I was a kid that had mayo in it. It was very good - nice and moist. We also put cinnamon in brownies which gave them a nice flavor. I've heard of grape jelly in spaghetti sauce or chili. What do you do? Members Anon
I like to throw Black Walnut extract in my cookies and breads sometimes. Also use cinnamon, vanilla, and sometimes butter and/or walnut extract in pancakes and waffles. YUM!

Members faithgirl47
[flavor. I've heard of grape jelly in spaghetti sauce or chili. Ugh. Dad's former step-father wants ketchup with his Spaghetti. He got upset at one of the waitresses because there wasn't any ketchup at the table that my late grandmother and her husband were at. Members Junebugwv
I have to add a little sugar to chili. I add gluten and All-Bran cereal to any wheat breads I make. And vinegar is my friend. I add it to roasts and pork. Try this some time with any pork: chops or roast. Place pork in a foil lined pan, pour 1/2 cup white vinegar over it and top the pork with sliced onions. Cover and bake. You'll be drooling before you take the first bite! If you want a good gravy...take the broth from the baked pork and place it in a skillet. In a small bowl, put 2-3 T corn starch and 1/2 cup cold water, stir or shake until lump-free. Slowly pour into boiling pork broth, stirring constantly. It is the best gravy I have had.
Members chev1958
We put worchestshire sauce in our spaghetti. My grandmother stirred sour cream in her mashed potatoes. I had an aunt who mixed garlic salt in her breakfast eggs (nasty!) My wife likes peanut butter and mayo sandwiches.
