Is Mother Goose true? No.
Are The Brothers Grimm tales true? No.
Etc. you get the point. How about these recommendations (I'm being sarcastic,)

1Ti 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

1Ti 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2Pe 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
2Pe 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

We ditched the fables and instead read biographies and such regarding the great heros of our Christian heritege.

Me too. I spent hours and days imagining my own little worlds. Now that I'm too old I have to write them instead. :D

Oh I used to always imagine stories...and I still do and put them on paper, but they were always realistic...LOL.
