I didn't know that.

The Latin word for "right" (as in right or left) was dexter. From this we get "dexterity" and "ambidextrous."

The Latin word for "left" was sinister. The word obtained its negative connotation because the left unlucky or bad as left-handedness.

There, two facts for the price of one.
