Members dwayner79
We sang this song last weekend, and I thought it was an old hymn. Its powerful lyrics are reminiscent of the theology we find in so many great hymns. To my delight, this was just recently written. This kind of theology is so lacking in so much "new" Christian music. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy worship music, but much of it is fluf, and I have no problem admitting that. I was glad to see that writing good music is not dead. In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save 'Till on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave He rose again And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me For I am His and He is mine Brought with the precious blood of Christ No guilt in life, no fear in death This is the power of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny No power of hell, no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from His hand 'Till He returns or calls me home Here in the power of Christ I'll standHere is the story behind it and here is a home video of some guy playing it on the guitar(so you can hear the simple melody). This would be a great piano song, with its simple melody. This is the new music that is destined for future hymnals. Anyway, I am not trying to play the "there is some good CCM" card, and I really do not want a CCM debate. I was just so floored by this song, and wanted to share. Members speerjp1
I like this song and have been listening to it for a while, but the version I've heard has a different last verse that doesn't sound as calvinistic as the one you posted. It is a good song to get stuck in your head, though.

Members matie-k
We learned that song at my hubby's home church the last time we were home over a year ago, and we both loved it! I have it on this cd, and it's a great recording of it in my opinion:http://www.oldchristianmusic.com/mproductpages/steve-pettit-evangelistic-team--if-eyes-could-see.html Actually that whole cd is terrific. Members GentleLearning
This is a great song! I believe that a group called the Newsboyz (I have a teen aged brother :cool ) also sings this on one of their CD's. The lyrics are beautiful.
