What Am I Worth?

What am I worth, in this temporal world,
Where life is but just decades old?
None other purpose, but to live for Thee:
Jesus, who sacrificed Himself for me.

How can I walk on in my own old ways,
When my eyes have beheld Thy glory?
I can do nothing but to follow Thee,
To walk in Thy Spirit, and living in love.

How can I cry and bemoan my sufferings,
When Your wounds and grief exceeds mine?
Just as how You walked down Golgotha,
Same I do patiently, to carry my Cross.

How can I lift myself up selfishly,
When Your life was spent serving others?
Just as how You lived Your earthly life so lowly,
Shall I place You and others before me.

How can I linger on in unbelief,
When I behold Thy great promises?
I shall walk Thy ways diligently,
Where the end is rewards and glory.

How can I let worry dictate my life,
When Thy Providence soothes the righteous' heart?
Provider of all things that I need,
I shall rest comfortably in Thy grace.

How can I let this world die without Thee,
To enter eternal damnation without hope?
Saviour of all that are willing to repent,
I shall preach Christ - the sole offering of mercy.

How can I waste these many decades,
When work no longer exists within the grave?
Provider of wisdom, that heavenly virtue,
I shall steer life's ship in Thy way.

Then at the end of these years of toiling,
Shall I shut my eyes peacefully:
Resting on none but the blood of Christ,
Covering me from the wrath of God.

Yea, since if the master takes suffering,
Let me, a servant, take fully the same:
Bear this name - Christian - with integrity,
Bearing the old rugged cross of Christ.
