The God of Gideon?s Men

Who faced an innumerable host?
Gideon and his mighty men.
Who went forward with a heavenly host?
Gideon and his mighty men.
Who turned the multitudes to flight?
Gideon and his mighty men.
Who stood for good, and fought for right?
Gideon and his mighty men.
Who went down when God told him to go?
Gideon and his mighty men.
Who marched with neither sword nor bow?
Gideon and his mighty men.
Who chased the Midianites across the land?
Gideon and his mighty men.
Who delivered Israel with a mighty hand?
Gideon and his mighty men.

But who blessed them as they went?
The God of Gideon?s mighty men.
Who gave them strength when all was spent?
The God of Gideon?s mighty men.
Who really won the battle that day?
The God of Gideon?s mighty men.
Upon Whom do all the praises lay?
On the God of Gideon?s mighty men.
And Who First sent them out to fight?
The God of Gideon?s mighty men.
Who urged them on in dark of night?
The God of Gideon?s mighty men.
And Who planned the whole foray?
The God of Gideon?s mighty men.
So, to Whom goes the victory that day?
The God of Gideon?s mighty men.

Now which of these need we to praise?
The God of Gideon?s mighty men.
To Whom shall we the standard raise?
To the God of Gideon?s mighty men.

And when the smoke of the battle has cleared away
Who shall reign supreme, and who shall say
?Not by strength, nor by might?
Did I put thine enemies to flight,
But ?By my Spirit? sayeth the Lord,
This He spoke in His precious Word.

A tribute to Jesus

While
He sent?
They went;
He fed?
They fled;
He prayed?
They played;
He wept?
They slept;
He died?
They sighed;
He was glorified?
They were horrified.
