I knew a couple who names their daughter Mandolin... it was weird at first, but you get used to it...

I basically only know what I want my first girl's name to be.

??/? which means 'wisdom' in English and it's pronounced Ji-hye.

My first son will be John Michael Chahl IV. After that, who knows. I might give them some Italian names like Marco or Luca or something.

For girls: Abigail (Abby), Emma, Rachel.

Long, long before I was even married, I knew, if our oldest was a boy, I wanted to name him Samuel Levi, because Samuel had been given to God from birth, and the tribe of Levi was set aside to be devoted to God in substitution for the first born males. Samuel means "called of God" in Hebrew.

Also both Samuel and Levi are family names.

When Linda was pregnant with our second child I had been reading a lot of Jonathan Edwards, and Linda and I both descided we liked that name.

I always wanted to name a daughter Danielle Elizabeth, but Linda didn't like it, so we named our daughter after her mother, Virginia and we call her Ginny.

All of our kids are going to be named using family names. At least that is the current plan.

Our daughter is named Helen Michelle (my grandmother & sister)

Geraldine Ann (her grandmother & aunt)

I think my wife has concocted others but I can't recall what they are at the time.

When I taught fourth grade, I had a girl student named Ammi-El ("friend of God"). She was from a charismatic background, but I still wanted to use that name, but dh said, "No way."
