Alimantado, you know my edit to explain things wasn't directed at you, we've talked enough. Seth, get a grip. If you where so taken by what I said as to start cyber preaching, maybe you need to look in a mirror lol.

I have to change something with your permission Alimantado, the peer review paper stipulation. I didn't quite catch that and unfortunatly, those papers are not for theories, opinions, or stipulations put forth by people. If you would allow general magazines/book put forth by the scientific community where people speak more openly, then I can happily meet your evidence, otherwise I am at a loss. Today when looking it up, my eyes sorta got big when I re-read what you asked and new I was toasted, because peer review is mainly for the confirmation of evidence.

If you allow, we'll go good faith or you can set new guide lines. Good faith of course means I'm not stupid enough to show something from Art Bell and go "see see?!?!?!" but you of course wouldn't reject "discover" magazine.

On these forums, people would fight about anything. Start a thread in the lobby about how much fighting goes on around here, and you'll have the first 5 people argue with you that there is no fighting.

And to get back to the original topic - it is amazing how far people will go to avoid the obvious explanation.

What was "apparently" found was a trilobite that had been stepped on - and there were at least two explanations offered that were not the obvious one - that a trilobite was taking a nice stroll one morning and some big ugly bloke stood on him!

And the reason why this explanation was not offered would have been something along the lines of "We know that trilobites died out long before shoes were invented so there must be some other explanation."

What can we know for certain from what was found - there is a trilobite fossil witha fossil 'footprint' on it.

Can we know how it got there?
No we can not - we can only speculate about that.

What is the most obvious explanation - the trilobite got the footprint in it before it was fossilised!

Is that the only possible explanation - no, but it is the most obvious.

Hi Qwerty Guy, I've been on holiday recently, hence the delayed response. I wasn't actually trying to call your bluff, I only asked you for references because you said you had them, and you pretty much invited everyone on the forum to ask for them:

As it happens I disagree about peer-reviewed papers not being about theories or opinions. The discussion section is an integral part of any scientific paper, and of course most peer-reviewed journals also publish essays and articles that don't present new findings at all: they simply present new theories or ideas. Garrett Hardin's famous essay in Science, and Watson and Crick's famous paper in Nature would be two good examples. Here's one about the first life on earth coming from outer space! - http://profiles.nlm.nih.gov/SC/B/C/C/P/_/scbccp.pdf

Anyway, feel free to post up references to regular magazine articles about scientists who think fossil footprints were made by aliens. Haven't read any myself, so I'm intrigued!

Hope all is well with you.

What you are about to see is top secret. It is a videotape recorded 900,000 years ago, by an alien using a remote controlled camera. It shows his attempts to educate a caveman. They have been codenamed "The Prometheus and Bob tapes".
