One final update from Linda:

"I would like to do one last update. He was buried yesterday. I really don't know what to say other than that. A chapter in my life has ended as his is now gone. I will miss him for a very long time.

I wanted to give an update on the official cause of death: Acute ischemic stroke.

I will again say my condolences to those who loved and cared about him. I am having a gravestone made for him. It is white, about the size of legal paper. It will take months for them to make it, but they will place it on his grave once it is finished. Nicole, Jim jr, and I have decided to have this wording on it:

In memory of James David Foley Sr.
Born December 6, 1942  -Died July 29, 2023 at 80 years of age
Beloved by all who Knew him

I also want to thank all those who donated money so he could have his wish of being buried next to his late wife Marcia Foley.

Thank You
Linda"

Thank you to Linda for providing the information along the way - to think of others at a time such as this is a testimony to your love and care.

Thanks also to Happy and the forum for allowing a place for this.

A man such as this who was always an encouragement in the Lord to those who knew him, and in my case (and many others here) I knew him only online, both here and via email, but the friendship was nonetheless real.

His voice on this forum will be greatly missed, and his contact with me will be missed greatly also.

Regards,

David

Like many other in this thread I am just now seeing this. This is heartbreaking but I rejoice that he is with his Lord now. I've lost two family members in this past month...one right after the other so my mind is still mourning their passing so this news is even more heartbreaking.

That last day Jim planned to be on the forum I sent him a private message. I just wanted to tell him that even though all of us on this forum don't get to interact with each other in person that I still cared for him. I told him I would be praying and looking forward to having him back to scare all the trolls off. His reply to me simply said "Thank you, Luke".

My prayers will be with his family.

Sadly, I've just caught up to Jim's passing on to glory. Dave W has summed up anything I could possibly add. I'll see Jim again one day because of Jesus and for His sake.

Oh .. I just saw about him dying in the forum now.  My prayers go out to his family and I'll see him again in heaven.

We were very much on the same page with Baptist teaching.
