Looking for couples devotional

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for suggestions for a daily devotional for my husband and I. We don't have children so that's not a priority in the devotional. I want a devotional that we read a passage or scenario and it has questions for us to both answer to each other. To help better our communication with each other.

Yes, "Call to Glory" is good - we personally know several of the pastors who contribute. Our church purchases copies for our members. It's been neat to have someone reference what they read that morning and be able to discuss it.

It's not necessarily a couples' devotional, but it might be a good one to start with. It also has a through-the-Bible reading plan.

Evening prayer is called the compline. Here is a link to the Northumbia Community compline. My wife and I have been using it for some time now. We alternate reading the short portions of the complines for that day. The ones in bold we read out-loud together.

I was very impressed when I met members of the Northumbia Community when the visited the Baptist Seminary in Prague, Czech Republic. The community is not a community where they live together. There are community members who live all around the world, but follow the disciplines of the community. They have morning prayer, mid-day prayer and evening prayer.

Here is a statement from "Alone and Together" from their website.

Baptist Bread

It doesn't have questions for "each other" but still a great devotional based on sound doctrine.

The Christian Home by Clarence Sexton. Get the Book and Student Handbook (for both of you), you may also like the teachers guide it's useful too but not necessary.
