Administrators HappyChristian Posted June 19, 2019 Administrators Share Posted June 19, 2019 Our church was very small to begin with, but over the last year it has shrunk (due to gossip and folks not liking what the Bible says about their sin...). We are an older church, meaning that most of us are close to 60 or older. And so the various health issues of aging affect us. Other issues do as well. One of our ladies just underwent back surgery. She will be in the hospital for 5-7 days, and then who knows how long to recover, with another surgery in 4-6 weeks. Her blood pressure is too low right now, so she is in ICU. Her name is Linda. Linda's husband, Jim, just found out that part of one of his lungs has collapsed, and there is a mass. Another lady, Pat, has congestive heart disease and is really struggling with water buildup. I would appreciate prayer for these 3 folks, but also for the entire church. With my husband's injury, he is not able to get out knocking on doors, so we are not making contacts. Would appreciate prayer that God will grow our church, both spiritually and physically. Alan, DaveW and Jim_Alaska
Administrators Jim_Alaska Posted June 20, 2019 Administrators Share Posted June 20, 2019 I'll be in prayer for the three people you mentioned, as well as the church and Randy. Just remember that it is through much tribulation and the darkest of times that God's glory and purposes shine the brightest. HappyChristian and Alan
Administrators HappyChristian Posted July 3, 2019 Author Administrators Share Posted July 3, 2019 Linda has been home for a while, and is seeing slow progress. She will be having the second surgery on July 19. Her sister is scheduled for aneurysm surgery on Aug. 2, and Linda won't be able to make it to that. Linda's husband, Jim, also has pneumonia in the collapsed lung (he already has COPD). The mass is in his lung, and the doctor believes it's cancer. He is scheduled for the testing necessary to find out if it has spread.
Administrators HappyChristian Posted July 19, 2019 Author Administrators Share Posted July 19, 2019 Linda is at the hospital in Seattle today. Too far, with Randy's injury, for us to go. The procedure is not as invasive as the first one, but is still a biggie. They nicked her spinal cord during the last surgery, and so were not able to finish what they needed to do (they had to spend the time repairing the nick). She has had good and bad days - a lot of pain, especially in her right leg, from the damage to the spinal cord. That problem might never clear up. Her husband has had all the testing done. His biopsy came back as lung cancer, stage 3B. The B means it has spread to the lymph nodes. Would appreciate prayer for them and their family. Administrators Jim_Alaska Posted July 19, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 19, 2019 HC, there is a device to help with chronic back pain that seems to help most people. I have this device implanted because they found that it also helps with Neuropathy, which I have. She should talk to her doctor about this, most doctors know about it. She will need a referral for a test to see if it will help. The device information can be seen at this address:Â Â https://www.nevro.com/
Administrators HappyChristian Posted July 19, 2019 Author Administrators Share Posted July 19, 2019 Thanks for the info. I'll let her know. Jim, Linda's husband, is in the hospital with pneumonia. Jim_Alaska
