Moderators Salyan Posted November 7, 2018 Moderators Share Posted November 7, 2018 So I'm excited! I'm moving to a new rental in a couple of weeks (a trailer - so my own walls! No more apartment neighbors, yay!) with a bit more storage space. Yesterday on Kijiji a shelf reliance can rotation storage system came up for sale. I'll be picking it up tomorrow night, Lord willing. I've been wanting to try can rotation for a while - it'll be neat to have the space for a proper system. Anyone else do the whole food storage bit? It's a little bit a.l.a. LDS, I know, but it's the one thing I think they're right on. HappyChristian, swathdiver and Alan
Administrators HappyChristian Posted November 8, 2018 Administrators Share Posted November 8, 2018 We do some storage. Less than we did before we moved here, but some. I'm excited for you!
Members Alan
Due to our situation, we do not do much storage. But, keep us posted. I am not familiar with storage plans. What is a Kiiji food rotation storage plan?
Members Rebecca
Kijiji is a sales website, people post various things they have for sale. This is a type of can rotation system I like, but not sure if it's what Saylan spoke of. https://goo.gl/images/PHCVxQ John Young and Alan
Moderators Salyan Posted November 11, 2018 Author Moderators Share Posted November 11, 2018 Same basic idea, but mind is a freestanding shelf with multiple layers. It’s a shelf reliance system. Alan

Moderators Salyan Posted November 23, 2018 Author Moderators Share Posted November 23, 2018 So to continue the story on that can rotation system, the night I went to pick it up, I got out of the car and up walked two young Mormon missionary fellows. "Have you ever talked to someone like us before," the one said. Poor guys did not expect the conversation to go quite that way. We actually had a rather good talk... please pray for them if you think of them. HappyChristian, Invicta, swathdiver and 1 other 3
Members Invicta
I have pull out wire baskets in my cupboards and put cans in order of best before date. I also write the best before date and contents on top of the cans with a marker pen. I have noticed that canned tomatoes of any brand always have the 31st December of whatever year. Members Invicta
In our previous church there was a sister who would not use any vegetables after their best before date. I said as a gardener, the best before date was the day after it was picked, Salyan
Members heartstrings
Hurricane knocked out our freezer. Just bought a new one couple weeks ago. Hoping to put a deer and a couple of sheep in there soon. When we were gardening, we canned a lot of veggies. Haven't done that in a while. swathdiver and HappyChristian
