I have an issue here and it is related to this statement from the article:

The problem is that the Hebrew conjunction waw (translated “and” in our text) is very flexible in meaning depending on context. Here, “or” is better than “and.”

I trust that the translators did their job properly and that the proper word in this place is "and" not "or".
