1Co 2:16  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. When you have received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, you become the temple of the Holy Ghost. 1Co 6:19  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? Now you have the mind of Christ. Now God can transfer his thoughts to your regenerated mind through the Holy Ghost!! The thoughts are transferred to the mind of Christ in you because you are his Temple. These thoughts are what The Holy Spirit has written for you. We call it the Holy Bible. The more time you spend with your Bible and prayer, the More God is able to Communicate with you. Prayer is the method of communication. Spend your time in prayer and Bible reading for more fellowship with God. Remember the Fruit of the Holy Ghost!! Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24  And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Brandon,

You do not need to hear the physical voice of God.

The scriptures are the complete word of God. If you want to hear God speak to you then you need to read, study, and humbly follow the written words of God.

The Holy Spirit, the author of the scriptures, speaks through the scriptures. The audible voices that the charismatic brethren refer to are not the audible voice of God nor the Holy Spirit.

Furthermore, the Authorized Version of the scriptures, commonly known as the King James Version of 1611, is the only preserved word of God in written form.

Kindest regards.

Alan

*Square brackets [ ] are for emphasis*

I'll try to make this so easy for you to understand in that you may take the first step of faith and to avoid any confusion. First of all, you need to make certain that you are indeed a child of God. For without the Holy Spirit, we are devoid of the truth and cannot understand it (1 Cor. 2:14).

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, [he will guide you into all truth]: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and [he will shew you THINGS TO COME]. (John 16:13)

It is the Holy Spirit which gives us the understanding of who God is. What do I mean?

But the Comforter, which is [the Holy Ghost], whom the Father will send in my name, [he shall teach you all things], and [bring all things to your REMEMBRANCE, whatsoever I have said unto you]. (John 14:26)

The more you read and study the [Word of God], the more you will acquire knowledge of the Almighty Creator and gradually develop a closer relationship with Him. Because it is He (the Holy Spirit) who will GIVE YOU the ANSWERS you SEEK by bringing it back to your remembrance (Jn. 14:26) what you have LEARNED from Scripture; and there would be no need for you to HEAR and "anticipate" an "audible" voice to RESPOND to you -- for blessed are your eyes for they SEE.

So then [faith] cometh by hearing, and hearing [by the word of God]. (Romans 10:17)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and [THE WORD was God]. (John 1:1)

And this is life eternal, that they might KNOW thee the only true God, AND Jesus Christ [the WORD], whom thou hast sent. (John 17:3)

Also, putting unreasonable demands on God indicates a lack of faith (among other spiritual problems). The whole point in prayer is putting the problem (whatever it may be) in God's hands, and trusting Him to provide for it. Asking for proof is the exact opposite of having faith, and without believing that our prayers are going to be answered, there is little point in praying. Be careful about "extra-biblical" revelation and external signs -- because this is what the devil appeals to (the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life).

According as his divine power hath given unto us [all things that pertain unto life and godliness], through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (2 Peter 1:3)

God Bless!!!
