Does it help to remember that most people on earth perish without hope and without Christ in the world ?

Is this why Jesus is written to be "A man of sorrow , acquainted with grief?"  (for the lost ones)

Who will give up following Jesus ,  instead of enduring to the end to be saved ?

Who will endure to the end to be saved,   counting all the "manifold temptations" with joyousness rejoicing?

(not contradicting 1 Peter 1:6 ,  but even in the darkest hour,  as

when the disciples were in chains ,  total darkness,  in a stone cave prison,  SINGING LOUDLY WITH JOY HYMNS and PSALMS of PRAISE !  (and the other prisoners could hear them)

A thousand we watch fall on one side (in sickness and death), ten thousand on the other side,

and there's nothing written that says we can do anything for those ones.

Others though,  a remnant,  we sow the seed God Gives Graciously and Freely, and we water the seed as God Says and Speaks through us,   being as bond-slaves of Jesus the Messiah as we serve dutifully and faithfully the Most High Eternal Almighty Creator ,

and the Father, as He Pleases,  When He Pleases,  Gives Growth.
