Does having a child out of wedlock disqualify a man from preaching

Sorry friend, but no scriptural references will suffice without further clarification.

Has the person asked for God's forgiveness? Has he repented? Is he now married to the mother of the child?

Is this only referring to preaching as a layman, or are you referring to pastoring a church?

I'm not attacking you...just need more information in regard to the situation. :)

Well, any saint can preach.  A divorced saint, an ex-con saint, a former professional sports saint, they can all preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Now can they pastor a New Testament Church?  Well now, that's another question entirely!

Would a man who desires the office of a bishop has a child out of wedlock be blameless?
