The first one is a cluster of three on a crookneck yellow squash plant. See the teeny little squash?

 

This one is a zucchini. The leaves are almost the size of two dinner plates.

This looks like a lot of plants. Do you grow them for sale or for your own use? I can't imagine growing that much squash for personal use, probably because I don't like squash at all.  lol   

I know, I am strange, most people really like squash and enjoy it fresh from the garden.

We love squash. I will be giving some to my kids, family, church folk etc. There's no way my wife, daughter and I can eat it all. Over the years, we usually only planted like 8 or 10 plants, but I got carried away this year. I have two rows of crookneck over 60' long and a whole row of butternuts the same length. Last year only one or two plants of butternut made more than we wanted. Don't know about selling it. We'll see what happens.

I love raw squash and zucchini in my salads...also in pasta salad.

Used to love them fried too, but I don't eat fried foods much any more for health reasons. We do still steam them quite often though.

You can fry the flowers in batter.

Awesome. Yeah, my Mom said they were edible. haven't tried any yet.

I have never had much success with butternut.  This year they have grown well.  We have had some and have a number still on the plant.  Will they store?  I only had room for one plant.

They will keep for awhile; not sure how long. You might google it. We eat all of ours before they go bad.

Thanks, I read that they are winter squash. Does that mean they will store for the winter?

All I know about them is they taste good baked, then slathered with real butter. :)
