Moderators Ukulelemike Posted January 3, 2017 Moderators Share Posted January 3, 2017 So let's put our silly poetry here. I will begin with a heartwarming poem my father penned, many years ago. "Ode to a Grilled Cheese Sandwich" A belly full of food ,Worth a Kingdom, if I had one to spare But I haven't an extra kingdom, so I'll pay my equal share For a Cheese Sandwich, Grilled, Golden brown and Delicious With a Slice of Pickle; Green, Warty and Nutritous. Administrators Jim_Alaska Posted January 3, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 3, 2017 I would love to contribute to this thread Bro. Mike, unfortunately poetry escapes me, I have never been able to do it. I am a published writer, but to put together poetry seems to be an impossible task. I have tried it, but am not able to get past staring at the screen and having a total blank mind, so I'll have to leave that to others who can do it. That's just purty writing that doesn't have to rhyme, but it's still considered poetry. Or maybe haiku. 5-7-5: A large piece of cheese // the mouse comes, sniffs, then he bites // the cheese, it is gone. Haiku is fun because it can be about anything as long as it fits the 5 syllable/7 syllable/5 syllable format.
Administrators Jim_Alaska Posted January 3, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 3, 2017 I have to say that I have not tried it Mike. Even after you explained it I don't really understand it.
