Man, as he is predisposed since the fall, continually questions the Word, questions God, tries to find flaws, errors or "secret meaning" within the Word.

Just as some question how Jesus could be God and man, there are always those who claim we can know the date of Christ's return, or can know He will return within a given time period (within the next 40 years, by the year 2,000, before the next president takes office, by the time of the next Jewish holy day...just some examples).

Most of Scripture is pretty clear if we let the Word speak for itself.

Some prophecies God chose specifically not to fully reveal, or not to reveal in an easy to follow timeline while at other times God chose to be very specific in His prophecies (God stated clearly Israel would be exiled for 70 years; God didn't choose to reveal the time of Christ's return).

The more time we spend in the Word, in prayer, in living for the Lord the more we can rest assured God is in control, His will shall be done, and whatever happens in our lifetime we will be ready.
