Members nanamom05
I am trying to find record of a baptism. I have asked the church but they do not have any records. The Baptism took place in Mississippi, any ideas how I can find this information? Thank you for your time, it is greatly appreciated.God Bless
Moderators OLD fashioned preacher Posted August 26, 2015 Moderators Share Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) Not all churches have baptismal records nor certificates. For example, ours doesn't. I am curious, why do you want one? What does a baptism record afford, convey or accomplish? For that matter, what do you believe baptism does? Members nanamom05
It's for someone else. Not sure why he wants a record of his baptism. It seems to mean a lots to him. He is my brother and I love him very much. Thank you for answering my question,
Members John81
Those are good questions! Some churches require proof of baptism in order to become a member of their church. Our church gives those baptized there a card "certificate" but as our pastor says it's no more than a keepsake. Members Invicta
In our church the pastor will recommend the candidate to the church officers after an interview with one other member, if they agree they will give a baptism lessons and then it will be presented to the next members meeting, if the members agree, which they usually do the applicant will be baptised on an acceptable testimony. nanamom05
Members nanamom05
Thanks to everyone that answered my post. My church was able to find the certificate for my brother. He is very happy to have the proof he wanted. Covenanter and trapperhoney
