Brethren,

I have had difficulties in uploading the last lesson (Lesson # 19, Psalm 67:1-7), onto the thread. I will be uploading them a little section at a time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

You may comment on any section you feel like or wait till the whole lesson is uploaded.

Alan

Psalm 67:1-7 foretells of the blessings when the Messiah, the Lord Jesus, will reign on the earth, in Jerusalem, in the restored nation of Israel, and revealed by the John the Apostle in Revelation 20:4-6 It  is also written on why the Messiah will physically reign on the earth.

God has a desire to tell all of the nations of the earth the wonderful news of His mercy so that All of the earth would fear Him. God selected Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the 12 tribes of Israel, to gather as a nation in order to spread the message of the mercy of God throughout the nations of the entire world.

God brought the children out of Egypt to dwell in Israel to be a light to the world. The purpose of God was to have the center of true worship at Jerusalem and shine from Jerusalem to the entire world. That plan will be finalized in Revelation 20:4-6 through the Messiah, the Lord Jesus, reigning, and judging righteously, among the nations of the world.

“God be merciful unto us …”

The mercy of God is available to all whom sincerely, with a believing and repentant heart, asks for mercy. The mercy of God was available from the days of Adam, in any country, until the last individual to draw breath on the face of this earth.

This cry of mercy is, from the context of Psalm 67:1-7, specifically directed by the children of Israel, the Jews, to God above.  Throughout the history of the children of Israel, when the nation cried out to God, in sincere heart repentance, God turned from His wrath, and in His mercy, saved Israel from national destruction. Let me give one example to suffice, as the mercy of God is well known.

The mercy of God towards physical deliverance –

A Type of the Salvation of Israel as written by Paul in Romans 11:1-29

The story of Hezekiah, 2 Kings 18: 1-19:37 and 2 Chronicles 29:1-32:33, is an example of the mercy of God on the whole nation of Israel at Jerusalem after a time of repentance, calling upon God for physical deliverance, cleansing of the Temple of the defilements (2 Chronicles 29:5), and a total dependence upon God. What did God say? And then what did God do? “For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake. And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.” 2 Kings 19:34 & 35

The story of the physical salvation, and deliverance, of Judah (Jerusalem), in the reign of King Hezekiah, is a type, or foretaste, of the national salvation, and deliverance, including the cleansing of the Temple in Jerusalem, towards the Jews as Paul referred to Romans 11:1-29 and 2 Corinthians 4:15 & 16

This type includes the cleansing of the Temple of the defilements within the Temple. “And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together in the east street, And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.” 2 Chronicles 29: 4 &5

During the Tribulation Period, the re-built Temple is filled with defilements. God is going to cleanse the Temple and create another one. Revelation 11:1, 2 Thessalonians 2:4 and Ezekiel chapter 40-46

Mauro, Preterism, and Mercy towards the nation of Israel

The advocates of a-millennialism, or Preterism, from the days of Augustine, to our current age, teaches that since the Jews rejected the Lord Jesus as the Messiah the nation of Israel was permanently cast aside in 70 A.D. Thereafter, the Church, called, ‘True, or, Spiritual Israel,’ took its place (Replacement Theology), and as a nation (not as individuals), the nation is never to be restored and the mercy of God is non-existent. Philip Mauro states this position.

Furthermore, instead of relying on the prophecy of the Old Testament prophecies, Mauro, like almost all preterists, use human reasoning to assume that since the passages are not repeated in the New Testament, than they are not to be fulfilled. This is an error. Whether or not a prophetic passage is repeated in the New Testament, in the way a person perceives it should be repeated, does not discount, nullify, or otherwise change that prophecy. As I discussed before, Mauro changes the Old Testament prophetical word, ‘restore,’ to, ‘reconstruction.’

In the chapter titled, “WHAT THE N. T. TEACHES AS TO FUTURE MERCY FOR THE JEWS.”[1] Philip Mauro states:

What then does the New Testament say as to the reconstruction hereafter of the

Jewish nation; as to the re-occupation by that nation of the land of Canaan; as to

its exaltation to the place of world-supremacy and headship over other  nations;

as to  the re-building of the temple and the re-institution of bloody sacrifices &.?

 Not one word.[2]

[1] Mauro, Philip, The Hope of Israel: What Is it? (Boston, MA: Hamilton Brothers,1929), 137

[2] Mauro, Philip, The Hope of Israel: What Is it? (Boston, MA: Hamilton Brothers,1929), 140

Mauro has his own thoughts on mercy towards the Jewish nation, the prophecies of the Old Testament prophets concerning the leadership of Christ over the world in the land of Israel. Whether or not a prophecy concerning the mercy of God towards Israel, or a specific prophecy towards Israel, is mentioned in the New Testament does not preclude God showing mercy towards Israel or fulfilling a prophecy. Mauro’s reasoning in his own private interpretation.

Mauro continues his faulty reasoning, and falsehoods, by stating:

It will probably be agreed by all Bible teachers that there is no prediction in the

New Testament of a national restoration of the Jewish people; and we believe

It has been already shown in these pages that the testimony of the New Testa-

ment excludes the possibility of such a thing.[1]

In earlier statements, Mauro condemns the Scofield Reference Bible, fundamentalists, and any Bible expositor as a ‘Bible teacher.’ Mauro, throughout his book, ‘The Hope of Israel: What Is it?’ calls fundamentalists, “subversive,” “preaching another gospel,” “carnal,” and other denigrating monikers. Mauro considers a person is a ‘Bible teacher,’ if he teachers Preterism.

Philip Mauro uses human reasoning and assumes that the Old Testament prophecies are not to be fulfilled. Philip Mauro does not believe the scriptures as they are written. Mauro doubts the validity of the prophecies because he does not see them fulfilled, as he wants to see them fulfilled. Mauro is mistaken, and is a false teacher in the area of biblical prophecy.

[1] Mauro, Philip, The Hope of Israel: What Is it? (Boston, MA: Hamilton Brothers,1929), 143

Furthermore, Mauro does not believe in the words of Paul the Apostle, concerning the salvation of the nation of Israel as revealed in Roman 11:1-29 “And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.” Romans 11:26 & 26 The whole passage of Romans 11:1-29 is dealing with the re-grafting of the nation of Israel, ‘the Olive Tree,’  into their own Olive Tree.

In his teaching on Romans 11:1-29, Mauro miss-interprets the passage and does not apply them to the Jews as a nation. Mauro concludes his miss-application of Romans 11:1-32 with this statement.

In a word, whatever ‘mercy’ (11:31,32) may be in store for the natural Jews, will

come to them in this day of grace, and as individuals, not in the day of judgment,

        and as a nation.[1]

In addition to the miss-application of Romans 11:1-29, Mauro miss-interprets Romans 11:31 & 32. Nothing in the Romans 11:1-32 passage is referring to the Day of Judgment, nor is the grace of God limited to this day of grace. The grace, and mercy, and compassion, of God will be manifested in the 7 Year Tribulation period, the Millennium, and in eternity.

Paul also prophesied in 2 Corinthians 4:12-18, that when the Jews, as a nation, repents from the heart, and turns to the Lord Jesus for salvation, than God will have mercy and save them. “But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. Nevertheless, when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.” 2 Corinthians 4:15 & 16

Furthermore, Philip Mauro, as almost all Preterists, denies that God will give mercy to the Jews as a nation. When it comes to the nation of Israel, almost no preterist believe that God will show mercy to them. Romans 11: 15 and 16 teaches, “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”

[1] Mauro, Philip, The Hope of Israel: What Is it? (Boston, MA: Hamilton Brothers, 1929),  170

Contrary to the beliefs of Mauro, when the Jews, as a nation, turn to the Lord with a repentant heart, and ask the Lord for mercy and compassion, then God will give it.

“… and bless us; and cause this face to shine upon us; Selah.”

God, in every generation, and in every country, and in every individual, desires to bless His people with spiritual and physical blessings.

“That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations”

The context to ‘among all nations,’ is clearly to all of the nations of the entire earth and not just to the nations surrounding Israel, nor other Middle Eastern nations. Verse 4 says, “… and govern the nations upon earth ...” and verse 7 says, “… and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.”

At the time of the fulfillment of Psalm 67:1-7, we will see the fulfillment of the Kingdom throughout the world as Psalm 72:1-20 also portrays. Below I have listed a few of the prophecies of Psalm 72

Psalm 72:4, “He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.” During the 7 Year Tribulation Period, the people who are left that will populate the earth are destitute of all things and have been oppressed. The Lord, as Judge, will correct all of these problems throughout the world.

Psalm 72:7, “In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace as long as the moon endureth.” The reign of King Solomon, will pale in comparison of people among the nations being saved and national peace throughout the world.

Psalm 72:8, “He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.” The dominion of Israel under Joshua, King David, and King Solomon, never extended “... from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.” This awaits a future fulfillment.

Psalm 72:11, “Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.” “… all kings, …” and “… all nations …” never served King David nor King Solomon.

Preterist’s and the Dominion of the Messiah

Preterism teaches that the saints are reigning now, that we are now in the Millennium, and due to the influence of the church, Christ is now reigning over the heaven and Psalm 72: 8 & 11, are being fulfilled now in the dispensation of the Church. Please note that most preterist’s (I will use William Hendriksen as an example in this section), unless they are Catholic, will not name a particular denomination.

The church has become international. This international church is very powerful: “like

a mighty army moves the Church of God.” Cf. 11:6. … Only the individual who lacks the

historic sense and is, therefore, unable to see the present in the light of conditions

which prevailed throughout the world before Christ’s ascension, can fail to appreciate

the glories of the millennial age in which we are now living. Truly, the prophecy found

in Ps. 72 is being fulfilled before our very eyes.[1]

Hendriksen is totally mistaken. Psalm 72 is not, “being fulfilled before our very eyes.” And, in Hendriksen’s mind, those who do not believe his faulty interpretation, “lacks historical sense.” Like almost all Preterists, he lists C. I. Scofield,[2] all Premillennialists,[3] Larkin,[4] and others, lacking historical sense. Furthermore, Hendriksen declares that the translation of the Authorized Version is based upon faulty manuscripts.[5]

“… may be known upon earth …”

It is the will of God to make known all of His ways. God has selected man to make known all of His ways upon the earth. The Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:7 makes a powerful statement, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us.”

What is this treasure? In 2 Corinthians 4:1-4 Paul explains that the ‘god’ of this world, Satan, has blinded the minds of those people who do not believe the gospel. Paul next states in verse 5 and 6 this statement, “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

The preaching of the gospel of Christ, to give the knowledge of the glory of God, is the treasure in our hearts.

Missions - the Heartbeat of God

Due to the extreme effects of the Tribulation Period, besides the physical rebuilding of the world, there will a necessity for missionaries to go through the entire world to preach the gospel and tell the good news of the Kingdom. During the Millennial reign of Christ, the Lord will again give the command to, “… Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15

During the Millennial reign of Christ, the command (missions is a command not a suggestion), to go into the entire world and preach the gospel, will be given at Jerusalem, to start with the Jews, to the ends of the earth. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts1:8

Why the phrase, “thy saving health?”

During the 7 Year Tribulation Period there will be an utter destruction of the entire world. The economy of the world will collapse, the Jewish nation will endure extreme persecution throughout the world, the transportation system of the world will collapse, horses will be the main mode of transportation, there will be no religious or personal freedoms, sanitation will be non-existent, plagues will ravage around the world, and the world will lose the benefits of modern technology.

The Lord Jesus prophesied that unless the days were shortened that not flesh would be saved from physical death. “And except those days were shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” Matthew 24:22

In other prophetic passages in the Old Testament, God has promised, along with the peace and joy, the agricultural, animal, and water blessings of the kingdom. These physical blessings will restore the earth to abundance of food, water, and sanitation, in order to save the health of the inhabitants.

 “… thy way …”

God is perfect and all of His ways are perfect. This includes the way of salvation, the ways of living, the ways of worship, and the ways of behavior. Micah 4:2, “And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”

“Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy:”

Since the time that this was written, the nations of the world have not praised the name of God nor given God the honour due to His name, His character, the Creation, nor His many blessings upon the entire world.

I had previously discussed that during the 1000 Year Reign of Christ on the earth He will bring joy and praise to the nations of the world. Please see Lesson # 6, Isaiah 60:1-22 and Lesson # 18, Isaiah 55: 12 & 13

“for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.”

Christ will judge the people righteously and govern the nations upon the earth.

“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which not had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” Revelation 20:4

Revelation 20:6, “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection, on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 The Lord Jesus will govern the nations on the earth. This has not been fulfilled yet and is still in the future.

According to the prophet Zechariah, (Zechariah 12:3-14 and 14:4-11 and, 16-21), the throne will be in Jerusalem in the nation of Israel, on the earth.  The prophecies of Zechariah 12:3-14 and 14:4-11 and 16-21, are not referring to the heavenly new Jerusalem nor to the Lord Jesus currently sitting on His throne in heaven at the right hand of God. “And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.” Zechariah 14:9 “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.” Zechariah 14:16

I had previously discussed all of the above passages, in great detail, in Lesson # 14, Zechariah 12:9-14, Lesson # 15, Part 1, Zechariah 14:1-3 & 12-15, and Lesson # 15, Part 2, and Zechariah 14:16-21

Philip Mauro, Preterism, denies the reign of Christ as King in Jerusalem

Philip Mauro brings out the Preterist position that the prophecies in Zechariah, and the other prophecies in the Old Testament concerning the literal, real, observable, reign of the Lord Jesus in Jerusalem, is symbolic and is being fulfilled in the dispensation of the Church.

Enough has been said, however, to make evident that the prophecies of Zechariah referred to above, and hence other prophecies of like character as well, relate to

things spiritual and have their fulfillment in this present era of grace.[1]

Philip Mauro is basically stating what all preterists believe (with a little variation with some authors). They believe that the prophecies given to the future restored nation of Israel, and the 1000 Year reign of Christ in the restored capital at Jerusalem, is spiritualized, given to the church, and that the true nation of Israel is the church.

[1] Mauro, Philip, The Hope of Israel: What Is it? (Boston, MA: Hamilton Brothers,1929), 22

The doctrine that interprets the prophetic promises given to Israel was initially called ‘a-millennialism.” The word ‘a-millennialism, ‘is based on ‘Replacement Theology,’ and is now commonly known as ‘Preterism,’ in denominations that tend to not like the term ‘a-millennialism,’ due to its connotation with the Roman Catholic Church.

This false interpretation of scripture started with Augustine in his work, The City of God, continued as doctrine with the Roman Catholic Church. The Reformers (Calvin, Luther, Knox, etc…),  turned against the Roman Catholic church in the doctrine of  salvation, taught against the pagan ceremonies in the Catholic Church, but the Reformers incorporated the false prophetic doctrines into their own denominational dogma.

“Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.”

As the gospel message is again proclaimed throughout the world, and the physical effects of the Old Testament prophets start producing the abundance of food, water, and other necessities of human existence, the entire world will praise God and His benefits. “Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.” Psalm 72:17

“Then shall the earth yield her increase …”

The physical benefits of the Kingdom of God on the earth include the agricultural products of the ground, the animal kingdom, an abundance of water and rain, and the increase of the longevity of man.

The prophecies of the physical benefits of the Kingdom of God on the earth will start taking effect once the Kingdom is settled. I had previously discussed these physical benefits in Lesson # 1, Part 2, Isaiah 11:1-16, Lesson # 4, Isaiah 35, and the issuing of vast quantities of water from the Temple in Jerusalem, Lesson # 8, Ezekiel 47:1-12

“and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us.”

This is a direct reference to the physical descendants of the children of Israel: the Jews. The Jews rejected the Lord Jesus due to a ‘heart’ problem. They did not believe. In a direct reference to the Jewish people in the nation of Israel, God said, “O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!” Deuteronomy 5:29

The vast majority of Jews in the ministry of Jesus while on the earth, as in the time if Moses, had a heart problem: unbelief. “So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.” Hebrews 3:19 Paul the Apostle is very clear about this matter. When the Jewish people believe on the Lord Jesus as the Messiah, then God will cause them to inherit the promises of the Old Testament prophets. Romans 11:23-26

“… and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.”

The prophecy of God, as the Messiah, ruling over all of the earth has not been fulfilled. Nor have all of the nations, since this Psalm has been written, and up to this day, fear God. In fact, the nations of the world despise God, despise those who love Him. The nations of the world openly mock God; the Lord Jesus, the scriptures, the doctrines contained therein, and is in open hostility towards God.

Psalm 2:1-3, “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together,, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,  Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.”

Even during the dispensation of the church, the nations of the world do not fear God. The words of Paul the Apostle is still true to this day as it was in the day King David penned Psalm 2:1-3. In fact, the situation has gotten worse during the dispensation of the church.   Paul stated that some in the churches will give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.” 2 Timothy 4:1

Therefore, the prophecy of, “… and all the ends of the earth shall fear him …” has not, nor will be, fulfilled at any time in the dispensation of the church.

Therefore, this prophecy still waits a future fulfillment. The fulfillment will be as recorded in Revelation 20:4-6

Why will the Lord Jesus physically rule on the earth?

God had previously declared in Micah 4:2, “And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”  As the New Jerusalem will have no temple, the prophecy in Micah has to be on the earth, in Jerusalem. “And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.” Revelation 21:22

I had discussed the aspect of the temple being in Jerusalem in Lesson # 10, Micah 4:1-7

The Covenant with King David

God made a covenant, through Nathan the prophet, with King David concerning the kingdom; 2 Samuel 7:4-17 and 1 Chronicles 17:3-15

“He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.” 2 Samuel 6:13

“And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.” 2 Samuel 7:16 The covenant was with King David; not with Israel.

In his sermon in Acts 2:14-40, the apostle Peter, concerning the resurrection of Christ prophesied by David, says, “Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; … For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand., until I make thy foes thy footstool.” Acts 2:30 34 & 35

The Lord Jesus currently sits as king in heaven at the right hand of the Father; Hebrews 1:3

According to the apostle Peter, the Lord Jesus will remain on the throne of David, in heaven, “… until I make thy foes thy footstool.” The foes (Satan and his followers), of the Lord Jesus will be defeated at the conclusion of the 7 Year Tribulation Period. At that time, the Lord Jesus will return as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS and rule on the throne of David in Jerusalem as the God covenanted with David in 2 Samuel 7:4-17

The Heart of God

God loves the world, and it is His will that all hear the gospel of eternal salvation. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” In the heart of God, He desires all men to hear the good news of salvation in order to escape the eternal punishment of hell and have everlasting life in heaven.

It is in the heart of God, He wants everybody to fear Him; to be saved. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, a some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

The Failure of the Dispensation of the Law and Church Age

The Jews under the rule of the kings failed in their witness to the world. The church in the dispensation of the church has failed. The Lord Jesus told His disciples to start at Jerusalem and got to the entire world with the message of eternal salvation. Matthew 28:18-20

The vast majority of missionaries are denominational missionaries trying to start denominational churches: not in the salvation of the souls of the people who live in the country. The vast majority of missionaries are from Ladoicean church’s duplicating Ladoicean churches.

The number (and size), of New Testament local church (independent, fundamental, and Baptist), missionaries in just about every country of the world is extremely small compared to the number (and size), of the denominational missionaries.

The Lord Jesus is standing outside of the vast majority of churches knocking, and hoping, that maybe somebody in the congregation will let Him in. “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” Revelation 3:20

The Lord Jesus is sick and tired in His heart, and stomach, of this situation and is ready to spew the Ladoicean Church out of His mouth in order to get rid of the bad taste, and end the dispensation of the church. One of the reasons I believe why the church is not going through the 7 years of the Tribulation Period is because the church has lost its witness and God has selected 144,000 Jews (physical descendants of the 12 tribes of Israel who got saved), to witness. Revelation 7:1-8

The Lord Jesus will fulfill the Plan within the Heart of God

The Lord Jesus in His 1000 year reign on the earth will have Jerusalem as the starting point of the true worship of God and branch out from Jerusalem, “… and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.” Psalm 67:7

The amount of destruction caused by the 7 Year Tribulation period, the destruction of Revelation 19:11-21 will be vast. The individuals left from the 7 Year Tribulation Period will not only need physical help, but, there will be still unconverted people left and the saints who are left to populate the earth will need to be converted.

Therefore, the Lord Jesus, at the beginning of His reign, is going to instruct His disciples, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things that whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19 & 20

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts1:8

The Lord Jesus, under His personal leadership as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, will perform the will, and heart, of God, to tell everyone born during the 1000 Year Reign of Christ, the wonderful news of God’s way of eternal salvation through the atoning sacrifice of, “… the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29

Brethren,

The purpose of this study on Revelation was to continue the Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study, answer questions, have comments, and discuss. Here is the link to that study:

I am in the process of correcting the PDF file that I attached on the last lesson of the Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study. If any one has anything they want to discuss on the study, or think I need to change any of my lessons on that study, or disagree with what I said, or think I should change something I taught, than now is a good time to bring it up so I can either change, or clarify, what I wrote.

Brother Allen,

I have never heard the message that during the millennial kingdom the gospel will be preached?  I must ask for some support for this teaching from the rest of scripture.  Matthew 24 indicates that all who were tares will be cast into hell prior to the kingdom being established.  But you are now stating that the gospel will be preached during kingdom years and missionaries will be sent out?  I have to ask if the kingdom years are the 1000 year reign of Christ from the throne of David or are we speaking of two different events?  Please clarify?

Orval,

I understand your questions.

The kingdom years years, one thousand years reign of Christ and the reign of Christ on the throne of David are one and the same.

As I brought out in the Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study, 'sin' and 'death' are not destroyed in the millennium (lesson # 3 I think).

I mentioned Isaiah 26:9 and 10, "With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yes, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the earth will learn righteousness. Let thy favor be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD."

During the reign of Christ, and His righteous judgments (Revelation 20:4-7; the study on Zechariah 6;12 and 9:10), the inhabitants of the millennium will have multitudes of children due to the longevity of mankind. The offspring of the inhabitants are born sinners and will not be 'righteous' in the sight of God and Isaiah points out two things. (1) "Let thy favor be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD." Much favor will be shown to all of the inhabitants of the earth, but, they are still wicked in their hearts. (2) "...for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the earth will learn righteousness." As in our day and age, the world will need to learn the 'rigtheousness of the Lord Jesus.

I had brought out that the temple in Ezekiel chapter 40-48 is literal (lesson #3 I think), the priests are literal, the water is literal, and the sacrifices are literal. See Ezekiel 44:17-24; specifically verse 23. I also mentioned Psalm 94:12, " Blessed is the man whon thou chasteneth, O LORD, and teachest out of thy law."

The priests will be teaching priests in Israel. They will teach the people the real meaning of the sacrifices and the inhabitants of the entire earth will have to once again be told of the righteousness of the Lord Jesus through men; missionaires, preachers, or evangelists.

In Psalm 67 (Lesson # 19 in this thread), I brought out that the message of the reign of Christ will go throughout the entire world. Psalm 67:2 says, "That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations."  According to Paul the apostle, in order for the lost to know how to be saved, he must be told by a preacher and the preacher cannot preach unless he is sent. "And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:15 Please take careful note, Paul quoted from Isaiah 52:7 (see also Nahum 1:15).

The command to preach the good news of salvation is both an Old and New Testament command.

I think you meant Matthew 13. In the Parable of the Tares in Matthew 13:24-30 the tares are indeed cast into the fire. We see the burning of the tares at the the beginning of the Kingdom, in Revelation 19:11-21, and at the end of the Kingdom, Revelation 20:7-10

In Revelation 19:11-21 the tares are the children of the devil; including, (but not limited to), the false prophets and false teachers of this world. "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."

In Revelation 20:7-10 we also see the tares of this world burned by fire.

I hope this clarifies my position.

Alan, thank you for your commentary.  It is true I meant Matthew 13 on the other hand in Matthew 24 the two grinding at the mill and two working in the field and one will be taken and one will be left is also a picture of the tares since both are taken to judgement.

I suppose I had never considered the idea that men could live under the reign of Christ and still be wicked with Satan locked away for a thousand years.  Also, I never considered the role of the temple during the millennium.  Wow, forty years I have been saved and teaching and have never considered the years of the millennium and all that takes place.  I am sheepishly grinning right now, wondering why I have never felt led to study any of this.

Unfortunately, I cannot break away from my studies right now to pursuit this topic but if the Lord allows me to live long enough I will study this aspect in the future.

Thank you for your insights and study.

Orval and DaveW,

Thank you very much for the kind words. Both of you are a blessing to my heart.

"Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." Proverbs 16:24

As with both of you, this study of the propheceis of the Old Testament prophets concerning the coming Kingdom on Christ, Revelation 20:4-6, has been a blessing to me as well. I am still learning, and am amazed how alive and relevant, the scripures are in every aspect of life and future events.

Brethren,

In the process of correcting the PDF on the Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study, I thought it would be beneficial to add the following three charts as a visual aid:

1. A Chart concerning the sequence of events in Revelation 19-22.

2. A Chart on the overview of events of the Book of Revelation. This chart would be a broad overview.

3. A Chart on the Major Events on Revelation 20:4-6: the Millennial Reign of Christ on the Throne of David in Israel. This chart would be more of a detailed list of the prophecies of the Old Testament (the prophecies in this current study).

If there are any comments that you would like to add in relation to the charts than please bring it out for discussion.

If there is another chart that you feel would be beneficial to the study please let me know.

Brethren,

Except for the three charts, I hope to finish the correction of the Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study PDF this coming week. I think  I got all of the spelling corrections done (there were a few embarrassing spelling corrections), and now I want to assure myself that there are no other problems that the brethren think it would be wise to change (tone, spirit, attitude, or scriptural problems). I want the PDF file lesson to be a blessing and a teaching tool.

Brethren,

My main computer (I have one at my office/home and one at the church), that had the Revelation PDF file is in the shop for a new motherboard. If the new motherboard fixes the problem I will have the corrected Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study PDF file ready, maybe, next week. If the new motherboard does not fix the problem I have to start a new corrected Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study on a older saved file. If that be the case, it may be quite a lot longer than one more week.

I will be glad in eternity we will not have to worry about computers (and our thought processes), breaking down.

Alan
