Members John Young
John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.Ephesians 1:3-6 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.1 Peter 1:17-21 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: 18 forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,21 who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.Romans 8:8-10 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. wretched
Members Popular Post John Young
I believe God is all knowing of time, space, future, etc but I also believe that Christ is the only pre anything in regards to our personal salvation [Not to be confused with God selecting certain people or groups to carry out His divine will] and the only ones who are pre anything is because they are in Christ. "They", (whither those who "would one day believe" or certain mysteriously selected people by God) I do not think were "Pre" ahead of time. Every verse which speakes of us being pre elect/ordained/adopted, etc is tied to God speaking of those who have personally trusted in the pre selected Christ. The foreknowledge of God is in His pre-pairing the Christ for us to be placed in at the moment of our faith. Without Christ we are not pre anything by God except pre-destined to hell. Members Alan
Excellent! Most folks forget, or do not know, or just ignore, the foreknowledge of God. God foreknows everything; man does not. Keep up the good exposition of scripture. wretched, John Young, HappyChristian and 1 other
Members Popular Post 2bLikeJesus
Excellent! It was Gods plan of redemption for man that was pre-ordained/pre-destined NOT the man himself pre-destined to salvation. God is indeed no respecter of persons. ALL are welcome to believe by faith and thereby receive all the promises of salvation and eternal life in the presence of God through the sacrifice of the Lamb of God as preordained before the foundation of the world (and therefore the creation of man). If the Calvinists could only figure out that it was Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross as the propitiation for our sin, and the redemption of man by faith in that sacrifice that is a foreordained promise and NOT each individual person, then we wouldn't have near as much to talk about on this forum. We would only have the SDA and other replacement theology heretics, or those who use our salvation as a liberty to live a life that is not holy or pleasing to God, to discuss here.
