Members Popular Post 1Timothy115
My mother was a 'Rosie the Riveter' in Akron, Ohio in the 1940s. Some may be unfamiliar with exactly what a Rosie did during WWII. She riveted airplanes together for pilots in the U.S. Army Air Corps (now called the U.S. Air Force). It's hard to believe that 70 years ago my mother was sitting on the wing of some aircraft riveting it together. Her birthday was today and I visited her at the nursing home where she is now living. She has to use a walker and is experiencing many of the maladies which effect the elderly. She has Alzheimer's and usually refers to me as 'little brother' but today she remembered and introduced me to the lady she was chatting with as "this is my son." God bless my mother. Her parting words today were as they always have been, "be careful on those roads." Moderators OLD fashioned preacher Posted April 11, 2015 Moderators Share Posted April 11, 2015 My mother-in-law was also a "Rosie the Riveter", my great-aunt was at Pearl Harbor on 7 Dec 41 (that was on my mother's side of the family -- the young side, on my Dad's side - my grandfather was a bugler in the War Between the States).
