 That's about enough there brother!

First we are dogs, and now you come right out and call us LOST?

That is quite offensive and I am reporting you! Shame!

First off, the book has never been sealed to the saved of God. The only 'saved' ones that the book is sealed to are the one's that have to use 'doctrines of men' to 'prove' their false view and lift up a people above the saved children of the Lord God, called Christians.

God is no respector of persons, it says that in the book! All saved are equal. And there is no difference between a Jew or Gentile. All the saved are the children of God.

And that is what this 'disagreeing' between us is all on, whether God has two brides or not, and the second bride is inferior to the first in your view.

God is not a polygynist! (you better look that one up.)

Genevanpreacher,

I did not call you, nor anybody else on this forum, "lost," nor "dogs." I quoted Psalm 22 and 2 Peter 2 and taught that the scriptures said that false teachers, and the religious leaders who crucifed the Lord Jesus, are like dogs. I did mention numerous false doctines, but I never said your name, Covenanter's name, or Invicta's. You need to carefully read the post. If, you, or Covenanter, are false teachers than I will let the scriptures speak for themselves.

Nor did I say you are lost. I did not say anybody is lost. I said that the Roman Catholic doctrine of a-millenialism is heretical and that they who believe it are propheticly in the dark: to them the Book of Revelation is a sealed book.  I never mentioned, nor even implied, whether or not the Roman Catholics,or those who  follow the the a-millenialist beliefs are lost.

You, and Covenanter, have mis-quoted me, slandered me, belittled me, and are trying to derail this study because of your disbelief of the doctrines contained therein.

Revelation 22: 18 and 19,

“Judgment for taking away the prophecy, or words, from the Scriptures.”

Verse 18, “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.”

Verse 19, “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

The Book of Revelation is a Book of Prophecy

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.”

The Book of Revelation is a book of Prophecy. Revelation 1:3, “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of his prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”

The first three chapters are the history of 7 churches that John the Apostle knew about. These 7 churches represent the 7 different types of churches in the church Age and they represent the 7 different ages of the Church Age. Therefore, Revelation chapters 1-3 are partly historical and prophetic, “the things which are.” “Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter.” Revelation 1:19

The rest of the Book of Revelation, chapter 4-22, is entirely prophetic; “and the things which shall be hereafter.” Revelation 1:19

The, “Preterist,” view of the book of Revelation contradicts this clear teaching that the words of the Book of Revelation is a book of prophecy. Therefore, along with other doctrinal reasons, the Preterist teaching is incorrect.

The teaching that the Book of Revelation is symbolic, allegorical, and not prophetic, contradicts the clear teaching that Revelation it is a book of prophecy. Therefore, the symbolic and allegorical interpretation is incorrect.

The, “Futurist,” or “Literal,” view of the book of Revelation is the only method of interpretation that the book of Revelation, from chapter 4 and following, is a book of prophecy. Therefore, it is the only correct method of interpretation.

The Book of Revelation was written, approximately, in 96 A. D. The destruction of Jerusalem occured in 70 A. D. Those who teach that the events of the Book of Revelation tell about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A. D. also contradicts this teaching that the Book of Revelation is prophetic.

Furthermore, the teaching that the Book of Revelation was written before 70 A. D. is a fabrication, originating with the Roman Catholic Church, in order to teach that the events of the Book of Revelation is an historical book concerning the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A. D. and therefore, not prophetic. Therefore, the teaching that Revelation was written before 70 A. D. is not correct.

The Book of Revelation is a book of prophecy; it is not a Historical Book, it is a prophetic book.

NIV readings in Revelation that take away prophecy

The following two examples that the NIV takes away from the prophecies of the Book of Revelation. One of these erroneous examples are found here in Revelation 22:19

(KJV) Revelation 22:19, “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

(NIV) Revelation 22:19, “And is anyone takes words away from the book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.”

The translators insert, “tree of life,” for, “book of life.” My dearest friend, that is not correct. The, “book,” of life is totally different from,” the tree of life.”

The Textus Receptus clearly states, in the Greek language, “book of life.” The NIV is in error.

The translators, in many verses, take away, or add, words, that affect the doctrine of the deity of the Lord Jesus in numerous verses in the Old and New Testament. As we are dealing with prophecy, and specifically the Book of Revelation, we will look at two of the examples where the NIV adds, “words,” in the prophetical Book of Revelation in order to water down the deity of Christ.

(KJV) Revelation 1:8, “I am alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”

(NIV) Revelation 1:8, “I am Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

By Old Testament verses, we know that God is Lord and Almighty. By adding the word, “God,” after Lord the NIV takes away the explicit meaning that Jesus is the Lord Almighty. The NIV reading sounds pious but by adding the word “God” where it does not belong it takes away the direct reading that Jesus is the Lord Almighty. The pious sounding added words in the NIV is the mark of a smooth talking heretic that Paul warned us about in Romans 16:18, “For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”

(KJV) Revelation 14:14, “And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.”

(NIV) Revelation 14:14, “I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one “like a son of man” with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.”

By adding the one word, “a” before son of man, the NIV attempts to take away the title of the, “Son of man,” the deity of the Lord Jesus, and make the Lord Jesus like any other individual.

Three Warnings in the Scriptures

God has warned men not to take away or add to His Words three times: at the beginning of the scriptures in Deuteronomy 4:2, in the middle of the scriptures in Proverbs 30: 5 & 6, and here in Revelation 22: 18 & 19.

Brethren, the warning given in Revelation 22:18 & 19 is one of the harshest, serious, and most solemn, warnings written in the scriptures.

The Doctrine of the Preservation of the Written Word of God.

Psalm 12:6-8, “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.”

In the English language, the Authorized Version, commonly called the King James Version (KJV) of 1611, is the preserved word of God. It is a, “pure,” Bible. It is untainted by the filth of the world and the corruption of false ministers of the gospel. The doctrines contained therein have not been tainted with the false prophets, false teachers, false ministers and the religious denominational headquarters of this world.

Reference Material on the Manuscript Preservation of the Scriptures.

God, in His wisdom, and in His direct will, did not promise to preserve the original manuscripts. He promised to preserve, “The words of the LORD...”

The study of the manuscript evidence of the Authorized Version, hereafter referred to the KJV 1611 for brevity, is long and extensive. A study of this nature is insignificant to even touch the hem of the garment. Very briefly. The underlying manuscript, for the New Testament, in the Greek language, for the KJV 1611, is the Textus Receptus. As the Book of Revelation was written in Greek we will limit any manuscript evidence presented in this study to the Textus Receptus Greek New Testament.

The underlying manuscripts of the new perverted versions of the scriptures, starting from the Revised Version of 1881, Dr. Westcott and Dr. Hort, is the Vaticanus and the Sinaiticus. Both the Vaticanus and the Sinaiticus are corrupt, Roman Catholic manuscripts.

Therefore, I will list some other research material, books and two sound, doctrinally correct, internet sites, for the reader to pursue the study of the manuscript preservation of the scriptures.

Modern Perversion of the Scriptures:

The New International Version (NIV)

“And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.” Jeremiah 23:36

The American Heritage dictionary definition of pervert(ed) adj. is: 1. To cause to turn away from what is right, proper, or good; debase: accused of perverting justice. 2. To corrupt (someone) morally. See Synonyms at corrupt. 1. To interpret incorrectly.[1]

The Apostle Paul reiterates this warning in 2 Corinthians 2:17, “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.”

The NIV, and the many other perversions of the scriptures, and the false teachers who use these perverted, or corrupt, versions, are causing many saints, (2 Peter 2:3, 14, and 18), to be deceived and to turn away from correct doctrines of prophecy to believe incorrect doctrines of prophecy.

Starting from the Revised Version of 1881, all of the modern translations are corrupted perversions of the word of God. As I am most familiar with the New International Version[2], hereafter called the NIV, I will use just a few examples of its corruption.

The NIV is found to be a lying version of the scriptures.

Proverbs 30: 5 & 6, “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.”

(KJV) John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

In fulfillment of Psalm 2:7, “I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.” The Noah Webster 1828 dictionary lists the definition of begotten as: procreated; generated.”[3] See also John 1:14 and 18; 3:18 and Hebrews 11:17

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the virgin birth, Luke 1:35, the Lord Jesus was the only ‘begotten’ Son of God.

(NIV) John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse is a perversion; a lie. The Lord Jesus was not the, “one and only Son.” Adam was the son of God, Luke 3:38. But, Adam was a created being that did not exist before the creation. The Lord Jesus was not a created being. Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: ...” God gave us His son. The Son, the Lord Jesus was in eternity with God; the birth of the Lord Jesus enabled the Son have a physical body like a man.

The teaching of John 3:16 in the NIV is the same teaching of the cults: the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Mormons.

Severe Judgments

“And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

The false prophets, false ministers, false teachers, and the translators of these false bibles, are to receive the harshest punishments possible. These punishments are plainly listed and need little comment.

  1. The plagues written in the Book of Revelation will be increased.

  2. They will not be able to partake of the Tree of Life.

  3. They will not be able to partake of the Water of Life.

  4. They will not be able to Reign with Christ in His 1000 Year Reign. Revelation 20:4-6

  5. They will not be with God on the earth for eternity. Revelation 21:3

2 Peter 2:9, “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.”

Revelation 22:20 and 21, “Surely I come quickly, your friend Jesus.”

Verse 20, “He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Verse 21, The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”

“He which testifieth these things...”

This is a continuation of verse 16 and Revelation chapter 1. The Lord Jesus personally bears witness of the prophecies and judgments, “these things,” mentioned in the book of Revelation. We need to remember that the whole book of Revelation is a direct prophecy from the Lord Jesus. “The Revelation of Jesus Christ...” Revelation 1:1

“... saith Surely ... ”

Every word that the Lord Jesus will come to pass. We can count on it. We need to hide the words of the Lord Jesus in our hearts when He said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” Matthew 24:35

“... I come quickly.

As this portion is directly written to the saints in the church age, verse 16, “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches.” The Lord Jesus is personally coming and when He comes we will see Him face to face in the air. This is a clear reference to the coming of Christ as declared by Paul the apostle in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

“Quickly”

The word quickly in this context has two meanings.

  1. Fast: like in an instant of time.

Brethren, when the Lord Jesus does come, it will be in an, “twinkling of an eye.” “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we must be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:52

  1. In the not too far distant future.

Since this was written in approximately 96 A. D., there has been approximately 1,925 years pass. To some folks, because so many years have passed they are of the notion that Jesus is not coming, “quickly.”

This is an error due to the human frailty to understand that in the mind of God that only a couple of days have passed. 2 Peter 3:8, “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” We need to understand that with God, time is very temporary. The apostle Peter was trying to encourage the “beloved brethren” to continue on faithfully serving the Lord.

This is one of the reasons, several times in fact, that the Lord Jesus warned all the saints in the Church Age to have patience in waiting for Him to come again.

The Olivet Discourse

In the Olivet Discourse we have many warnings about being ready for the coming of the Lord Jesus. These warnings can be applied to both the saints in the Church Age, or Dispensation, and also to the saints in the Tribulation Age, or Dispensation.

Matthew 24:42, “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Jesus is our Lord and we do not know when He is coming. The story in Matthew 24:37-41, Noah, is applicable to both the saints in the dispensation of the Church Age, and to the saints in the dispensation of the 7 Year Tribulation period.

Matthew 24:42, “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” The story in the faithful and unwise servants in Matthew 24: 42-51 is both applicable to the saints in the dispensation of the Church Age and to the saints in the dispensation of the 7 Year Tribulation Period.

Matthew 25:13, “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” The parable of the Bridegroom and the 10 Virgins in Matthew 25:1-13 can be applicable to both the saints in the dispensation of the Church Age, and the saints in the 7 Year Tribulation Period.

Matthew 25:19, “After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.” The parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30 can be applicable to both the saints in the dispensation of the Church Age, and to the saints in the 7 Year Tribulation Period.

“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.”

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8 Glory Hallelujah for the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In eternity, all of the saints: from Adam to the last person saved in the Millennium, is saved by grace.

From all of the ages, or dispensations, in the Old and New Testament: From the Garden to the Law, from the Law to Grace (the Church Age), from the Church Age to the Millennium saints, from the Millennium saints to Eternity. All will be in Eternity in the Celestial City through Faith in the Grace of God through the Lord Jesus Christ.

From all of the different countries: from Israel to China, to Africa, to America, the British Isles, the Polynesian Islands, the European Continent, to the saints in South America; will be a showcase of the grace of God. “That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:7.

For further blessings in your heart, a reading of Ephesians 1:10-14; 2:19-22 and 3:14-21 will show you the joy to come in eternity! God’s Grace is Amazing!

Amazing Grace, in the original 5 lyrics.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3G72NucLEGM

“ Amen.”

The word amen is usually a firm agreement with what one has heard or what one has read.

In Deuteronomy 27:11-26 we see an example of how God wanted all of His people to be in agreement with Him.

How to have a close walk with God

Amos 3:3, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”

Unless a person is in agreement with what God has said in His word, a person cannot walk with God. If a person believes a false doctrine is that person walking with God? No. Is the person saved? Maybe, maybe not? Don’t know.

In eternity, as we walk with the Lord Jesus, He will correct all of the false doctrines believed by the saints throughout the ages. The saints may not be in agreement in this life, and walk together in this life, but, my beloved friend, in eternity that problem will be corrected.

One of the reasons why many brethren in many churches cannot walk together, or even talk in a civil way together, is because they do not agree. They cannot say, “Amen,” to the brother’s talk.

Beloved brethren, we need to agree with God and what He has written in His book, and then say, in our hearts and mouth, “Amen, so be it!”

Brethren,

I want to thank the moderators for unlocking the Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study thread.

It is my hope that the thread will be a blessing to you and your understanding of the prophecy of the scriptures. The Lord has blessed OnLine Baptist with some new brethren and this is an opportunity for these new brethren to discuss what they want to discuss, and everybody else to bring to out what they want to discuss, and to enjoy the riches of Revelation chapter 19-22 together.

I also want to thank the moderators for allowing me to upload the link to the corrected, a slightly different format, and slightly revised, Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study PDF file. Here is the link:

http://taiwanvbc.com/revelationchapter19-22studyenglishmay2017internet.pdf

If you have any problems in looking, or uploading, the link to the PDF file please let me know.

In an effort to keep the discussions on this thread civil, I would like to keep a couple of thoughts in mind:

1. If, after a few discussions on a subject, it is apparent that we are not in agreement, we will drop that line of discussion.

2. References to individuals currently not on OnLine Baptist may not be appropriate. If they are not appropriate; than let's not mention them.

3. Let us keep in mind Paul's admonition in 2 Timothy 2:24 and 25, "And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth."

4. We will try and keep our discussions on the material in Revelation chapter 19-22 and the prophecies relating to these passages.

It is my hope that these lessons, and discussions, will be instructive in nature and the truth of the prophecies of Revelation will be a blessing to all of us.

Let us continue.

Alan

NOTE: Corrections on the PDF file will be in the following posting. As I do all of the proof-reading myself, and am finding mistakes as I prepare the Chinese edition for printing, I will add the list below for now and correct them all in the PDF file later. Any problems to the text that you notice, and brought to my attention, is appreciated.

Note: On September 25, 2017 I added a corrected PDF file.

Brethren,

I am not fortunate enough to have an English grammar proof-reader, nor a person to proof-read either the English edition of any of my works.  I proof-read all  of my writings myself. This includes my postings on OnLine Baptist, my books, my sermons and my tracts. The time I spend on my computer writing sermons and lessons for the church service, the material for our Bible Institute at the church we started (all in Chinese mind you), and the writings for OnLine Baptist (I do not write for any other internet forums), and the church website, is huge.

For your information, I write, by myself all of the scripure passages, and Chinese Proverb sayings (I use a Chinese proverb almost every week in my messages), in Chinese, on our church bulletin every week. I make mistakes in Chinese also and the Chinese brethren are gracious in bringing to my attention any mistakes. Any one who wants a copy of our church bulletin I will e-mail you a copy.

I try and proof-read all of my material; but, the amount of writing, in Chinese and English, that I do every day is huge. I have no proof-reader, nor do I have the time to have a proof-reader proof-read my material, and I do not catch all of the mistakes.

My English grammar is not too good and my mistakes are legion. I always appreciate folks who (politely is appreciated but I do accept impolite notices), who bring to my attention my mistakes.

I am in the process of proof-reading the Chinese Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study. As I am proof-reading the Chinese I noticed the following scriptural reference errors. I fully accept all scriptural reference errors in the English copy as my own mistakes. This list will be added to as needed.

Brethren,

Although I have a lot to learn, I think I am able to make basic charts for the Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study. I am of the opinion that maybe using the chart as a visual aid will help all of us understand Revelation chapters 19-22.

Here are my thoughts on the charts to make.

1. An overview of the Chapter 19-22 study with the appropriate passages.

2. A chart specifically for the Millennial Reign of Christ, Revelation 20:4-6, with the appropriate passages.

Note: On October 4, 2017 I decided to limit the charts to the above two charts.

Any thoughts, or recommendations, before I start?

Brethren,

Here is the chart on the, "Overview of Revelation Chapter 19-22; Section 1." On October 3, 2017 I revised the chart to read, "Overview of Revelation Chapter 19-22, Chart 1 Section 1."

October 11, 2017 revision.

Due to the amount of passages needed to adequately explain the passage, the chart will need to be done in sections.

I will wait awhile until I upload the next section to answer any comments.

Bro. Alan, thank you for this updated copy of your excellent study on Revelation 19-22. Your study methods, diligence in Scripture interpretation and attention to detail concerning Scripture comparison through both Old and New Testaments must be both admirable as well as edifying and reassuring to all who hold to a literal interpretation of this marvelous book.

I have been taught and have taught this book from a literal standpoint since 1977, but was never able to  attain the depths you have achieved in this study. In this study I have been reassured of the beliefs I have held dear since my first missionary pastor taught them and secondly through my own study and teaching concerning the wonderful truths contained in this book for those who will rightly divide, and have a love for the accuracy and purity of God's word.

Thank you again for making this work available as a resource as well as a reassurance to all who love the truth. I am very aware of the time, study and sacrifice that went into the study of this controversial, as well as important subject.

I want to thank both Rebecca, Jim, and the many others involved in this sizable study, for enjoying the study on Revelation chapter 19-22. As I mentioned long time ago when I first started this study, I find great comfort in these four chapters every time I read them. The more I read them and the prophecies of the Old Testament, the more I realize that it is all literal, wonderful, and breathtaking. It was my original intention (and still is), to be a blessing, to edify, and encourage, those who love these chapters and not to create some of the energetic discussions that emerged instead.

As Jim mentioned, when a person will learn how to 'rightly divide' the scriptures he will see the prophecies Old Testament blossom up like a flower in the light of the New Testament; particularly in the book of Revelation, and will properly understand the fulfillment of the prophecies of God as given in great detailed by the prophets.

Two notes:

1. I will rename the previous chart, Section 1 to Chart 1 Section 1.

2. On the note on Revelation 22:12 & 13, Behold I come quickly, I added Isaiah 62:11 that was not in the Revelation Chapter 19-22 Study.

As I added Isaiah 62:11, and it was not discussed previously, if anybody would like to discuss why I added it than please do so.

Alan
