How do you change the amount of time your computer is idle before the screen saver stuff comes up?

 

This computer has Windows 7.

Start....Control panel....Display....Screen Saver.  Then look for the little window with the time in it. Set the time for how long you want the computer to wait before activating the screen saver.

I went to Control Panel but there is nothing there about Display or Screen Saver?

Okay, I found it under Personalization and then Change Screen Saver. Wonder how long I'll remember that!

glad you found it. I just took a chance yours might be the same. Mine is XP, so evidently windows 7 is different.

They can't leave things the same, that would be too easy!

I had originally thought of suggesting this Larry, it is the shortest. But I have found that many that are new to computers have a hard time distinguishing different aspects of computers. We may tell them "desktop", but they may not know what that is, not realizing that the desktop is behind any opened programs.

 

Anyway, What you suggested is the easiest way, no doubt.
