Isaiah 49:6
"And he said, ‘It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of JacOB, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my (God’s) salvation unto the end of the earth.’"

Always examine a verse. Who was the "thee" who was to be a light to the Gentiles? Israel! This was to be Israel’s role.
Les Feldick

I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth

Thee and Thou are the same person, Jesus. Thee and Thou isn't a nation, its the Son of God Jesus. Israel isn't God's salvation, Jesus is.
