Administrators Jim_Alaska Posted September 4, 2014 Author Administrators Share Posted September 4, 2014 I have an Aunt that collects gold too, nearly drove my Uncle to the poor house. Â Â She prOBably didn't do her collecting on the Umpqua like I do. She paid money for it, we collect it as miners. Gold mining is one of a very few occupations that actually creates wealth. Think about it this way: You are standing by the river, perhaps clad only in bathing trunks. You dive in and come up with a gold nugget, you have just created wealth where there was none before. Members 2bLikeJesus
If you are diving into the cold umpqua river after riches, you are working to hard for it. Â It's Matsutake Mushroom season in the Umpqua River Basin! Â At $30 a pound you can make several hundred dollars a day picking shrooms. Â
