Can Any Real Conservative Win In America?

Herman Cain was set up.  He even had death threats against his grandchildren.  I know a woman who worked on his campaign.  As was stated, there was no talk after he dropped out of the presidential race.  Coincidence?  I don't think so.  These progressives in government are unbelievable.  The word "insane" comes to my mind when I think of socialist leaning Democrats.

I was a huge supporter of Cain.   After his run was sabotaged, I have all but given up on fair races in this country.    Can't happen.

So was I, Suzy.  Cain is a social and fiscal conservative.  I have about given up, myself.  I said in another thread that I wouldn't talk politics.  LOL!  LuAnne is encouraging me not to give up hope.  If the progressives get in again in 2016, that is it for America and the world.  Velcome to the USSA.

IF the media would let the people hear a genuine conservative speak; IF the Republican Party would give a genuine conservative a fair shot at running, the American people would vote for him.  It's also possible now to run apart from the Republicans or Democrats, both are but varying levels of Statism.  Many Americans say they are for the Conservative Platform though few actually live it.  However, there are many more who have bibles and go to churches, even if not biblical, if a candidate used Scripture to back up his positions he too would win.  This window is fast closing though, as the post-modern world crumbles and people continue turning to man and not God for solutions to their prOBlems.

Swath, it doesn't look like any of those things will coming to pass any time soon. The Repubs have all but determined to cast aside "social issues" or to even accept or adopt their own liberalized versions. One of the reasons the Republican Party leadership liked Romney was because after saying he wasn't for homosexual marriage, he said he was for civil unions for homosexuals (which is basically marriage under another name, granting the same basic "rights" and making the legalization of homosexual marriage virtually guaranteed).

The Dems and Repubs control the political machine, especially at the national level, and the rules they have written set the bar extremely high for any independent or third party candidate for president having any chance at all. These same rules block those "others" from being allowed to partake in televised debates; even as they are also used to help block some within the Dem and Repub Parties from participating.

From personal experience, I find that most folks who call themselves conservatives don't really have an understanding of what that means. For most, they have one or maybe a few things they call conservative but in other areas they are far from conservative. We see this in the Republican Party with so-called "fiscal conservatives", "social conservatives" and such. Even though many of these will repeat the "limited government" or "smaller government" chant, they scream and fight against any real limiting of government because they would lose their favorite programs and handouts.

While President Reagan failed to shrink the government, he did run on the idea of eliminating some unconstitutional government agencies and programs. Today we don't hear the so-called conservative politicians and candidates even talking about such. Instead they talk about "reform" or tinkering around the edges. In other words, their idea of limited government is making the massive, bloated, unconstitutional federal government apparatus over in their image.

We see this in the OBamacare debate. Rather than focus on the fact national healthcare is unconstitutional and fighting against any such thing, the Republicans fight against OBamacare and offer their own versions of government involved healthcare which would eventually lead to full government control of healthcare just as OBamacare will. Some Republicans have already given up the fight against OBamacare and now talk of how they can overhaul OBamacare in some ways which they like.

Holy Ghost revival and awakening is the only thing that can save America from crashing over the edge of the cliff.

Believe it or not, this nation is in a revival.  Many people are hungry for the Word of God.  When I witness to people, they want to know more.

Jews and Muslims are coming to Christ, as we speak.  I see it all over Facebook.  I have a young Muslim man from the United Arab Emirates that I have been witnessing to for a few years.  He is 24, and doesn't want anything to do with Islam.  He is in a state of confusion, which is good.  When I first friended him, he called God, "Allah."  Then, he started calling God, "Allah/God."  He now calls God, "God Almighty."  My Timeline, on Facebook, is set up to witness to the lost.  It is also set up to encourage the saints, as well.  I have a huge burden for the lost, as we all do.  However, my biggest burden is for the RCC people.  Out of the blue, last week, an RCC man came on my Timeline, asking me for help.  It was in response to something I had posted.  He said he was struggling with so much, and when he prayed to God, he didn't get answers.  A wonderful Christian friend of mine saw his post, and asked him how he prayed.  He said he prayed like he had been praying his whole life.  It was the way the RCC taught him to pray.  She told him to throw away those repetitious prayers and ask Jesus into his heart for salvation.  He wanted to know more.  Both of us were witnessing to him.  He thanked us so much for our kindness.  The other day, he wrote me a private message, asking me to help him.  He said he was feeling really depressed and that he needed my help.  I asked him if he wouldn't mind if I sent him a friend request to the girl that was helping him.  He said that would be great.  I am going to go on Facebook today, to see if they are friend's yet.

Praise the Lord!  God is working in the hearts and minds of men.

I've noticed a hunger from some in other countries for the Gospel, but not so much here in America.

In this area everyone either thinks they are already a Christian and don't want to talk about it, or they just don't want to talk about it for other reasons. Door-to-door is pointless unless one just wants a door shut in their face or to hear angry words for disturbing them.

Some online from other countries I've seen hunger for the Lord, they are eager to hear the Gospel, eager to grow in the Lord.

One lady from South Africa was born again, left the RCC and started attending a Church of God or Church of Christ. There are no other options where she lives but she's grounded enough in the Word, and from what she says the pastor just sticks to the Gospel and Christian living (not denominational matters), so this seems to be working for her as she hopes a better church will be available in the future.

Many overseas Muslims are having dreams where they are told to seek out particular Christians and ask them about Jesus. A good number of these are being born again.

No doubt the Holy Spirit is still at work, but at least here in America I don't see any signs of revival.

I am seeing it up north, b/c we have been deprived of God's Word so much in this area.  I also live in a highly Islamic city, so people are really scared.  We have a huge area that we call "Little Islam."  Muslims have been coming to my neck of the woods, in droves, for years.  Door knocking is really difficult, though.  People associate us with the Mormons and JW's.  The JW's are using a different approach lately in my area.  I got a faint knock on the door on Saturday.  It was a woman who gave me a brochure to a JW event in another city.  She didn't communicate at all with me.   Usually, Joe is around to give them the book of John and Romans in exchange for their gift.  I wasn't prepared, b/c that is the first time they did that.  I will be prepared the next time, though.  What is sad, it that these religions are working so hard for Satan, that Bible Believing Christians are so being so complacent.

Yes!  People in other nations are getting saved.  Muslims are getting saved in their Mosques, while bowing down to Allah.  They are great at soul winning, too.  What is sad, though, is our missionary friends from Scotland, planted a church in WV on the Marietta border, four years ago.  He lost the support of 12 IFB churches.  We have been helping other nations for so long, that we are neglecting our own.  They are being called back to Scotland.  His wife was raised by missionaries out of Cleveland Baptist.  She said it is in her blood.  ;)  They want my husband and I to help his nephew and boys with the church.  We are thinking about moving in another 1 1/2.  That area also sits on oil and gas reserves.  We will have the mineral rights.  And, because it is nestled in the country, we will have a place to hide when things start really getting rough in this nation.  We are like sitting ducks in this area.

Well, my hubby's co-worker and wife were saved last month after 5 years of praying and witnessing.  That's a start.  :clapping: One at a time, one at a time....

Amen, HC!  That is what I think, as well.  I use the "one at a time" approach, as well.

I witness to my childhood friends, all the time, on Facebook, along with a college friend.  We are all scattered across the country and the world.  They keep coming back on my Timeline.  Seeds are being planted.  I just continue praying, and let the Holy Spirit do His work.

Anywhere the lost are getting saved is great!

Around here the personal approach and consistent prayer is the best approach. Mostly with the personal approach it has to be with someone you have at least a bit of a relationship with because otherwise as soon as they get the idea someone is sharing the Gospel with them the door is slammed shut.

That's the prOBlem with living in an area where pretty much everyone already thinks they are Christians and the few who don't have been witnessed to so many times they don't want to hear it anymore. Add to that all the bad things the lost have seen from Christians, most secular, not actual born again Christians, and they don't want anything to do with such.

Pray, pray, pray and when the Lord opens a door, step in!

Amen, John!

It is so different where I live.  We have every religion under the sun in Cleveland.  If I didn't know better, I would think the Anti-Christ would come from Cleveland, OH.

Not living in the Bible Belt is actually pretty nice.  People associate Christianity with the RCC.  Thus, the vast fall away Roman Catholics in my area.  When my brother came to our old IFB church, he was amazed at how beautiful it was.  He has gone to a couple of their fellowships, as well.  We never had fellowship while going to the RCC.  We went in, did our duty, and left.  We were rOBots.  My brother also loves our pastor and his wife, as well.  He loves his missionary brother and his wife, too.  My RCC sister and I talked on the phone yesterday afternoon.  She mentioned how wonderful my MIL is.

Christian kindness is so important.  Tell people about the Word of God, read our Bibles, witness, and most importantly pray for them.  Then, they can be discipled (sp).
