The analogy that Jesus used was that as a man being born physically is the beginning of his earthly life, so also a man must be born spiritually to have eternal life.
Once he is born physically, he is a man, completely and fully and will never be more of a human being no matter what he does. He is 100% human when he is born.

So to be born again makes a man a new creature - he does not become more of a new creature as time passes.

He DOES grow in strength and maturity as long he does those things that pertain to life and health, BUT HE WILL NEVER BE MORE OF A NEW CREATURE THAN HE WAS WHEN WAS BORN AGAIN.
