David Cloud - "A thorough refutation of the gap theory can be found in The New Answers Book 1 by Ken Ham."

Kent Hovind explained the fallacies of the Gap Theory very well in his video series.  I'm sure it can be found on youtube.

Thanks, swath.  I appreciate you posting many reference sources.  BTW, my son will be graduating with a degree in Marketing in the Summer.  If he can't find a job in this field, he is thinking about going into the Coast Guard.

www.creation.com is another great resource, particularly if your son is technically or scientifically inclined, as it is run by scientists who understand why creation science makes sense and evolutionary science doesn't. They also have som really good explanations on why the compromises such as Gap Theory, Progressive Creation, and Theistic Evolution are incompatible with the Bible.

Thanks, TheSword.  Yes, my son is technically and scientifically inclined.  Thank you for the website.  I will give it to him.

It boils down to accepting the days of creation in Genesis chapter 1 as 24 hour days and not some larger expanse of time allowing for thousands of years between each of the six days of creation.  The first chapter of Genesis is a much needed foundation for understanding the rest of the Bible.

I personally believe the Bible is to be taken literally, unless speaking in parables is mentioned in the text.

People often want to pick and choose what to accept literally and what to "throw out" deeming by man's reasoning what is truth.
