Summary Of Amillennialism

Recommended Posts

Jesus will return physically

Return could be anytime: no sequence of events precede his return

No "rapture" before Second Coming ("rapture" is considered false teaching)

"Great Tribulation" is anytime since the first century that Christians are persecuted

The 1,000 year Millennium refers to the reign of Christ in the hearts of His believers

Modern state of Israel is irrelevant to Revelation prophecies (or any O.T. futurist prophecy)

When Christ returns the general judgement occurs and the eternal state begins

Amillennial literally means no millennial period, the term "Millennium" refers to the time

between Christ's ascension and his second coming.

Comments in blue - there are of course shades of opinion. Our Pastor has just issued a Reformed Baptist study book that includes thigs I disagree with.

Jesus will return physically

Agreed

Return could be anytime: no sequence of events precede his return

Many amils put the events of Mat 24 as necessary before Jesus returns

No "rapture" before Second Coming ("rapture" is considered false teaching)

The so-called "rapture" is the second coming

"Great Tribulation" is anytime since the first century that Christians are persecuted

The GT was either before AD 70, or before the second coming

The 1,000 year Millennium refers to the reign of Christ in the hearts of His believers

Not just the hearts - he rules all creation

Modern state of Israel is irrelevant to Revelation prophecies (or any O.T. futurist prophecy)

Many expect the Jews to be converted before Jesus returns

When Christ returns the general judgement occurs and the eternal state begins

Agreed

Amillennial literally means no millennial period, the term "Millennium" refers to the time

between Christ's ascension and his second coming.

Agreed

I take a Preterist amil position, with much of NT, including Revelation occurring in the run-up to AD 70.

"Rapture" of course, is not a scriptural word.  So why should we believe you when you add to scripture?

Most people would recognize the use of quotation marks.

"Trinity" is "not a scriptural word" (KJV)

"Millennium" is "not a scriptural word" (KJV)

"Rapture" is in your Catholic Latin Bible, however, the State Church (which became the Roman Catholic Church)

dismissed such ideas as they were the source is discord in the absolute authority of the Catholic Church - as was

any talk of a future "millennium" since the Catholic Church was "the millennium on earth" (Christ "ruling in the heart" of believers from heaven).

It is amazing that so many are swept away by this doctrine from the 4th Century A.D., that became the heart of the Catholic Church.

But then again, we are fast approaching "the end".

Amazing with what some comes up with. We surely are getting very close to Jesus coming for His own, them things will go from bad to worse when the tribulations hits, & those left behind will surely be in for some very hard times.
