Pastor John Hagee has written a book and given a series of sermons on this. I think he called them The Four Blood Moons, or something similar to that. He contends that something major is coming, some great change. I've not read the book (I'm not even sure if it's been released yet or not) and I've not heard his sermons, so I don't know what he's predicting or alluding to.

God will send a permanent solar eclipse before Armageddon to judge the antichrist kingdom.

I wonder if it is describing teeth chattering because they are cold in the kingdome of antichrist on the dark side of the earth?

If you've ever even felt the pressure of a small bit of demonic oppression in your life...can you imagine so much that it's completely dark? I would bite MY tongue.

Although if the sun is actually literally blacked out (which it's hard to tell sometimes if the language in Revelation is literal or figurative) then it would certainly be very cold on earth.

The darkness seams to be on the antichrist in Israel and his kingdom on the dark side of the earth. The sun moon and stars will with drawl their shininning. This happens during a solar eclipes. In this case it becomes permanent because of God's judgment.

I think the darkness is because there is no air there!  Consider the shuttles that went up in space--it was dark, yet they saw the fire of planets etc.  The sun itself still shines, but it is the air particles that reflect it to give off color and light.

 

Perhaps this explains the Verse Gen 1:3 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light"--light was there, but nothing yet to spread it around (air particle act like a prism),

 

Gen 1:14  And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Gen 1:15  And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
Gen 1:16  And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

Gen 1:18  And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

During the tribulation the atmosphere will be burned enough to let metiors impact the earth and cause the earth to stager. God will stabalize the earth with the permanent eclipse over Israel.
