Depends on your situation in life. Say you are saved while in prison. It's a tough thing to maintain your walk with Christ while in the slammer. Or if you are saved at a young age and all your family is a bunch of crooked, ungodly folks. I know of a guy that went through that. Or if you are a Christian in a oppressive country. I remember reading Richard Wurmbrand's biography and how difficult it was for the family of Christian men sent to the Gulag to walk the straight and narrow. Basically, it was a slow death sentenced upon his whole family if they tried to live the Christian life.


True, there are situations which make it more difficult, but for the average American I do believe Jerry is right. For most in America, it's not so much that it's difficult, it's that they don't even try, or some make half-hearted attempts.
