The World

It’s a tough world out there.  It will either harden you, or drive you closer to the Lord, depending on which way you run!  Yes, it is important that you run in the right direction; we have enough of those “hard cases“; we have enough lawlessness and ungodliness to suit us, and more than enough.  When trials come, (and they come to all alike), we have no hope--no help but in Jesus.  It behooves us to fall upon his grace and trust him to carry us through the trials.   This is not easy for the natural man to do, but it is extremely important that he do it; you might say “it is a matter of life and death!”  the urgency of the matter, and the futility of relying on the world ought to compel us to tell others of the wonderful grace of God; that too is of the utmost importance.  Yes, this world will shape the lives of many, and all dependant on which way we run when troubles and trials come our way.   Will ye run to the world, or friends of the world, and their pretense of comfort, or to the Lord the eternal Comforter, and the God of all mercy and grace?  You see, we still need to run to Jesus when trials come, even after we are saved!   Who else has the answers for life?  Who else can control our destinies?  Who else knows our future and holds our very life in His hands?  Only Jesus fits the bill; only Jesus will do.
