Cowboy Boots In Africa

The Book, "Cowboy boots in darkest Africa" is an excellent read. It was written by Bill Rice and tells much about life among the primitive tribes. Cannibals were saved (they said the elbow joints are salty tasting!) as well as headhunters, etc.

The book has pictures of the people but the women are topless--use discretion in your family.

I don't remember any pictures (maybe the edition I read didn't have any), but I really enjoyed reading the missionary stories from Bill Rice. Did you know he was John R. Rice's brother?

Yes, and he has a ranch called "The Bill Rice Ranch" (of all things!) I believe it is geared toward the blind, as he has a daughter that is blind.

We have the paperback copy of that book - excellent! Fortunately, the photos in our copy don't contain the topless women. Our son really enjoyed that book and Noel, the Loving Lion as well as the book about their dog. He was a very readable author, with really good lessons interspersed with the stories.
