Why do we use wimpy, enemy friendly terms?

Few preach about sin and the reality of hell anymore. Even those who do mention such tend to water it down.

Drunkenness, that's a disease people need "treatment" for. Boozing for fun, well that's just a choice.

Sex before marriage, well it's not best, but they are going to do it anyway.

Divorce, since there are so many who have divorced or probably will, better not say much about that other than starting a divorce support group based on the latest pscyhological research.

Homosexuality, have to tred carefully there, someone might get offended.

Adultery is something we have to be careful about mentioning, at least until we know for sure whether any of the big donors are doing that right now.

We'll just gossip about gossipers later, not point in preaching or teaching about it.

Better not talk about hell, that's not popular, most people either don't believe in or don't want to.

Most often it's best to just talk about "God" in the abstract, it's easier to not mention Jesus too often.

Smile a lot, talk about God being love and loving us just as we are and how he wants us all in heaven...but don't go beyond that, don't mention anything about the need to be born again, or to repent of sin, or that Jesus is the only way.

Who knows, if we follow this path we might be loved by the world and even called upon to speak on TV!

Yes, we know because of what we have seems. Those that hold to a very liberal interruption of the Bible are well liked by the media & the public. And if a brother or sister says anything negative about them, they get brow beat harshly.

Just like the Texas pastor who stated openly that Mormonism is a false religion, calling it a cult. The media and liberal pastors and Christians around the country pounced upon him. To his credit, he held to his biblicall assessment of Mormonism.

Is it "adult entertainment" or is it pornography?

Is it "gay" or is it sodomy/homosexuality?

Is it "pro choice" or is it pro baby murder, or at least pro abortion?

Is it "luck" or blessing from God?

Is there such a thing as "neutral" when it comes to matters of right and wrong, or is it as Jesus said, those who are not with us are against us?

Is it "not the best thing", "bad", "not really good", "a little sin", or is it SIN?

Why does it seem Christians adopt the nice sounding terms designed to cover their wickedness and sin rather than calling things what they are?

Why, when a Christian speaks biblical truth and they come under fire for it do they most often back down and soften their language to speak as does the sin promoting world?

Are we going to fight the good fight or are we going to be content to swing a feather pillow every now and then?

You are so right!
We need to strip off our yellow streek, and put on Christ, and while we are at it, the whole Armour of God!
Too many Churches are trying to look like the world in order to win them, or there favor, that's why I am a Bible believing, independent, fundamental, King James Version promoting, Baptist! I believe in being separated from the world and it's view!

A hearty Amen! I am not IFB but I have many of the same beliefs as you. There is a reason the bible says:

(Ezr 10:11) Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.

(2Co 6:17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

(2Co 6:18) And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

We are to be different from the world!!!
