While many are distracted by the elections, some thoughts from an atheist for 2012...

...I will bring new fights against those who would not only abrogate the First Amendment, but do so to the detriment of our children. There are two organizations that I will be focusing on this year, because they have chosen our public schools as their venue...

Child Evangelism Fellowship...

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes...

I was surprised how much their rhetoric resembles arguments when people don't stick to the word of God.
To read more go here.

Another one of there continuing efforts...

Any attempt to secularize Christianity must be fought against with every asset we have available. American Atheists has received a lot of static from some of our fellow atheists for going after the Utah State Trooper crosses and the 9/11 Memorial-Museum cross, but these lawsuits are absolutely vital. It is important that we fight the secularization of the cross, bible, etc. When we allow these things to become secular then we are complicit in the theocratization (if it wasn’t a word before, it is now!) of the United States.

To read more go here.

There new billboards are here.

When I read this it immediately brought to mind Psalm 2:1-4

'Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. '

The heathen can go ahead and rage against the Lord now but one day they are going to have to stand before Him and what a sad day that will be.

Sad, presidential elections even bring divisions to Christians, & some of them will get quite hostile with you if you mention anything negative about the one they're pulling for. To the point of nearly treating you like the enemy, or even an atheist.

There is a huge split right now over whether Christians should cast their vote for the flip-flopping Mormon, the serial adulterer Luthern turned Baptist turned Catholic, or the suddenly big talker Catholic.

Had Christians rallied behind one of the Christian candidates early on then one of them would likely be headed for the nomination. Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry and Ron Paul are all avowed Christians. Bachmann and Perry both made it very clear they would govern in accordance with their faith.

Some Christians gave both Bachmann and Perry tepid support early on, but at the very first sign these candidates were not perfect, and heeding the call of the media that the GOP needed a more "electable" candidate, they abandoned them.

The mass of voting Christians are more interested in who is seen as more "electable" than they are in supporting a Christian candidate and supporting them throughout the process so they do win.

In 1980 the constant story was that Reagan wasn't "electable". Some said he couldn't win because of his Christian beliefs, others that he couldn't win because he was "too conservative". Who was it that gave Reagan the mass of support that gave him a clear victory? Christians! No matter what one thinks of Jerry Falwell, his Moral Majority, made up mostly of Christians, which gave Reagan full support, is the reason Reagan won as he did.

If the Christian voters then were like the ones of today Reagan never would have won the primary, the GOP would have had a wimpy but "electable" candidate facing Carter and we would have had another four years of Carter.

Ahh! Yes, some get so tangled up in politics they see nothing but politics in everything they do. They can't keep away from it...while other enemies of Christianity sneak around with their despicable agendas. Maybe we need to see who is approaching from the rear while all eyes appear to be on politics.

The Enemy comes from every angle and typically all at the same time. Public schools do the work of the devil as do most colleges. "Liberal" churches, pastors, ministries and lay "christians" work to destroy from within, the government is a tool of the devil, there are a myriad of organizations out there, from Planned Parenthood to radical environmentalist groups, working to destroy Christianty in America.

Scripture says we are to be alert, to be on watch, to be constant in prayer, to keep our hearts, to be the salt and light of the world.

Unfortunately, there are many professing Christians who denounce and even attack Christians who shine the light of truth upon such matters.

Yes, like the atheist organizations I mentioned in the OP, they are not standing still. They think we're all so wrapped up with getting Obama out that we can't rely on scripture to keep us alert.

Sad to say that much of what passes for Christianity in America today is indeed blind to much of the work of the enemy that's not right in front of them. For too many professing Christians they place politics, the Republican Party, electing a GOP as president, ahead of becoming rooted and grounded in the Word, surrendering their lives to Christ and seeking His kingdom first.

The assualt is coming from every direction and this is because Christian America has become so worldly.
