Members MadeFree92
So, I saw that they are publishing Norman Geisler's Systematic Theology in one volume, it has all the of the content of the four-volume set, sans graphs and appendixes. I talked to a guy at church who said that while Geisler is religious about graphs they're just a little bit of help and not essential to the material. So, what I want to know is, anyone else seen anything about this or am I the only nerd who is stoked about a systematic theology coming out? Here's the link if anyone's interested.http://www.amazon.co...ef=pd_rhf_p_t_1 Edited July 27, 2011 by MadeFree92
Members farouk
Good to have it all in one volume. Just a general point, when something is systematic, good to make sure that in the end the Scriptures aren't being made to conform to the system, rather than the other way round, but anyway, Geisler has a good reputation. It's always good to be clear what the person's view of the church is, of course, because it will affect a lot of things. Blessings.
Members MadeFree92
Amen to your point, that's the danger of reading any book and also systematic theology. But, Geisler is supposed to be very good and detailed, so I'm personally interested in this. Between Geisler and Grudem I was stuck on which one, but some college students at church recommended Geislers, so I'll go for that first. Thanks for the thoughts. Members Wilchbla
Forget Geisler and get Lewis Sperry Chafer's Systematic Theology. It will cost you more but it's by far the best.http://www.christianbook.com/chafers-systematic-theology-4-volumes/lewis-chafer/9780825423406/pd/2345?product_redirect=1&Ntt=2345&item_code=&Ntk=keywords&event=ESRCP

Members MadeFree92
No, it's not out until Sep 1st, regrettably I have not been able to get into it yet. But I will when it arrives and might do a quick YouTube video for it on my channel. Edited August 11, 2011 by MadeFree92

Members MadeFree92
Actually I pre-ordered it. I didn't know it was going to take so long for it to come out, but I saw the announcement early and by pre-ordering I got it cheaper. Members farouk
Maybe they owe you a further discount for the further publicity you've given it... PS: Mind you, sound doctrine ought not to compete in a popularity contest... Edited August 12, 2011 by farouk
