Uncle Sam Considers Taxing Motorists for Miles Driven

For those who live in rural areas and in rural States, such a tax could become a massive burden.

It's a shame their greed and lust for power continually has them looking for new ways to take other peoples money so they can use it. If they had any concern at all for what's best for America they would begin eliminating and phasing out scores of programs and agencies that are unconstitutional and/or nothing but money pits. Massive spending cuts, not the tiny 1-2% of the budget cuts they currently discuss, is what's needed.

This could come close to making sense if we had a mass transit system like Europe but in the US, cars are needed even in cities a lot of times because we just don't have the infrastructure Europe has (and being that we are much larger I can imagine something like that is well out of range financially).

It is 40 miles to a grocery store other than our Wal-Mart , it's 185 miles to an airport with ANY airlines flying into it, it's 400 miles just to cross our state, the nearest zoo is 150 miles away ----- you get the idea, and that's here in town (we are the county seat) -- if you live in the country, houses are 1-4 miles apart.

Exactly! They want to send us further in debt by funding mass transit high speed rail lines so, they will make you want it.

They have to come up with something, they pushed for higher gas mileage which meant less gas tax money. Then they steal the money they collected, and use it for something else just like the S.S. fund. Only place in the world where you can work and be a thief and 50% of those you work for say it is okay, because they benefit from it. They the government, state, fed, county, city, make more off a gallon of gas than do the oil companies. We and or I could rant and rave on and on about this. dry.gifmakmiday.gifbang.gif

Yes, a den of thief's is about all we have, whether your speaking about our state government, or federal government. Sad part, is they claim to be public servants serving the needs of the public.

Get ready, it will only wax worse.

As seen, a party will sacrifice many of their own party members to pass a bill, latest example of that is Mr. Obama's Obamacare.
