Fox News and MSNBC in Bed Together on Gay Rights

By Cliff Kincaid

The Fox News Channel and MSNBC may be ideological competitors, but they see things the same way on homosexual "gay pride" in the media business.

The National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) is sponsoring a March 24, 2011, "Headlines & Headliners" fundraiser [1] to be hosted by MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts, with "special guests" that include Jamie Colby, Rick Folbaum, and Kimberly Guilfoyle of Fox News. Tickets are $100-$150.

Other "special guests" include Chris Jansing of MSNBC, Natalie Morales of NBC News, Erin Moriarty of CBS News, Trish Regan of CNBC, and Jane Velez-Mitchell of Headline News.

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth [2] says "the NLGJA is an activist organization with a strong institutional bias against those espousing traditionalist views on homosexuality."

He told AIM, "It is appropriate that Guilfoyle would be at this event based on her appearance on the Fox News "Red Eye" show [3] in which she not only dismissed the social conservative boycott of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) but she laughed at Greg Gutfeld's nasty anti-Christian bigotry. Gutfeld called pro-family groups haters. She didn't come to the defense of pro-family groups to defend their moral belief that homosexuality is wrong. It demonstrates her own bias against pro-family organizations. Many social conservatives are afraid that Fox News is going from neutral to becoming increasingly pro-gay. Fox News hosts were pretty much AWOL on the homosexuals in the military debate."

The influence of the powerful homosexual group was reflected in a January 29, 2011, New York Times front page story, "A Chicken Chain's Corporate Ethos Is Questioned by Gay Rights Advocates [4]," which attacked the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain because one of its Pennsylvania outlets had sponsored a February marriage seminar by a group opposed to homosexuality. The Times writer, Kim Severson, is an open lesbian and former executive board member of NLGJA.

The story was even featured on the Fox Nation website [5] of Fox News.

Fox News contributor and columnist Michelle Malkin attacked [6] the Times, citing Severson's bias and noting, "Severson has voiced complaints about her social and economic status as an unwed lesbian with a partner and child in several media publications. None of this was disclosed in Severson's advocacy journalism hit job on Chick-fil-A. But therein lies the unofficial motto of The Gray Lady: All the ideological conflicts of interest unfit to print."

Ostensibly designed "to help journalists better understand issues that affect LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender] individuals and their community," the NLGJA attempts to instruct journalists on how to cover homosexuality and has even issued a "stylebook supplement on lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender terminology."

For example, the term "wife" is defined as an "Acceptable term for a female, legally married partner of a woman."

The term "special rights" is not supposed to be used to refer to demands by homosexuals for government laws affirming their rights. This is a "politically charged term used by opponents of civil rights for gay people," the stylebook says.

Groups that have a successful track record of encouraging homosexuals to leave the lifestyle are called unscientific and discredited.

Yes....Charles Crowhower (spelling?) last summer was in favor of repealing DADT in the military and had little to no opposition from the other members of the "great american panel" nor from the host of that show. FOX is not a friend to Christians.

That's true. Charles Krauthammer, who many "conservatives" hold so highly, isn't even close to being a solid conservative. I saw one program where the stand he took was so far away from being conservative you could actually see the surprise in Juan Williams (not a conservative) face.

No doubt, Fox News is no friend to Christians, and other channels owned by the same person as Fox News are outright enemies of Christians.

Fox is definitely not pro-Christian, they are very pro-RCC when it fits their cause. If they need religious panel members or "experts" they call on their RCC friends. They even have one reporter who is assigned to cover the Vatican.

If you remember after 9/11 when they had their Baptist experts, Falwell and Robertson on and these men stated that the Muslims where haters and anti-American, etc. They quickly quit calling them and brought on people to rebut them.

Can you imagine a news organization that espoused Biblical views and how long it would last?

Considering two of their "big guns", Hannity and O'Reilly, are Catholic, it's little wonder that as they have grown in popularity and power, more and more Catholics have been brought in as "experts".

It was on Fox News where they addressed the issues of "homosexual priests" in the Episcopal church by giving a great deal of air time to a woman Episcopal priest and a male Episcopal priest with little time given to those who opposed their view. The woman Episcopal priest dominated the conversation, barely allowing the timid male Episcopal priest to say a couple words. Considering the Word of God makes it clear women are not to hold the postion she had, it's little wonder she would support others unbiblically holding the same position and higher positions.

One can tell a lot about a person when they hear them say something about Fox News being a conservative network. Either they are clueless or they are far lefties simply spouting the talking point of the far left.

Many Christians there be that will never understand that worldly conservative does not equal Christian conservative. Yet many Christians openly support worldly conservative in the political front.

And yes, Fox News is worldly conservative, not Christian conservative. Take a look at all the short skirted women they've got setting around on their news shows. I've often thought that they must encourage these women to wear short skirts hoping to gain men viewers.

A few years ago a female reporter commented that it's common practice, and practically necessary today, for women in the news to show much leg, show some cleavage and attempt to look "hot" while also trying to look professional. Yes, Fox News takes this same route.

During rating sweeps Fox News also airs a lot of "news stories" dealing with sex and scantily clad women. Anything for ratings.

Fox News comes very close to having XXX rated stuff on their site. They are not friends with God's children. They know how to get mans attention, & they use all tools possible.

It's really not safe to watch Fox News with children present. They too often have sex-related stories and they just "have to" show video clips of that which I don't want my children seeing. Their reporters and commentators also tell a lot of jokes and make many double-meaning comments of a sexual nature. As has been mentioned, most of their female talking heads seem to wear the shortest skirts possible and low cut tops or tops with the buttons not buttoned up.
