Members irishman
Where does the Bible tell us that we will earn jewels in our crowns? We pick up on some of these things and pass them on without thinking about them. There are a few things in our teachings from the pulpits that we need to examine more closely. the closest thing I can find is Malachi 3:17 "And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him." Members Bro Jim
I kinda understood it to be a twist on this old song. I know I heard it for years too; I speak of stars as in, Da 12:3 "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." And it is a referring to the Soul Winners Crown at the Judgment Seat of Christ, The Crown of "REJOICING." This is the "Soul Winner's" crown. Those brought to Jesus by us will be our "crown of rejoicing" at His Coming. 1Th 2:19-20. Php 4:1.Will There Be Any Stars1. I am thinking today of that beautiful landI shall reach when the sun goeth down; When thro' wonderful grace by my Saviour I stand,Will there be any stars in my crown? (Refrain)2. In the strength of the Lord let me labor and pray,Let me watch as a winner of souls,That bright stars may be mine in the glorious day,When His praise like the sea billow rolls. (Refrain)3. Oh, what joy it will be when His face I behold,Living gems at His feet to lay down;It would sweeten my bliss in the city of gold,Should there be any stars in my crown. REFRAIN:Will there be any stars, any stars in my crown When at evening the sun goeth down? When I wake with the blestIn the mansions of rest,Will there be any stars in my crown? Any comments? That's where it comes from bro. Though the idea of the 5 crowns that could be received at the Judgment seat of Christ cannot be found in that verse. The idea is that the jewels in the crown are souls that have been spared. So, it is striking simile. I wrote a song years ago. There's a calling for every child, To be a light in this world gone dark People live and die and wonder where they'll go. It could be Heaven, if we'll tell them so... Have you any diamonds in your crown? Have you built a house that won't fall down? Have you done something to last? And to the right have you held fast? And a few more verses, but the idea came from Malachi believe it or not. God bless, Calvary
Members trell
Simple. It is a doctrine of man, not in the Bible.
