In a shocking move, the Westboro Baptist Church, in Topeka, KS, announced it would protest Mrs. Edwards' funeral. A flier the Church distributed, claims that "God hates Elizabeth Edwards" appeared. The Church claims that Edwards committed suicide because she allowed herself to die by withholding further cancer treatments.

In any case, is stopping treatment for terminal illness suicide, or murder??

These people are so fake. Unfortunately, they are right (heh...) on some things that most professing Christians aren't (contrary to popular opinion, God does not love everyone).

God does love every soul, else Christ come to install Calvinism. Westboro smilie_loco.gif. As to suicide or murder. If someone is terminal, where do we draw the line to expect them to continue and why? For us or them. If I sign a DNR is that suicide or the doctors committing murder. I dealt with the family of a man who was hit by a car, all but brain dead. Three weeks of dealing with them about pulling the plug on the equipment and leaving him in God's hands or were hey committing murder? So many of these situations are hard to deal with, and I sure don't understand how someone could without the leading of Christ.

How one chooses to treat, or not treat, whatever is afflicting them is between them and God.

In Edwards case the doctors said further treatments would be of no benefit.

Scripture doesn't tell us to cling to life at all costs. Scripture does tell us there is a time to live and a time to die. In this line, there is a time to fight or treat a condition and a time not to. Should we make such a decision on our own? No. We should seek the Lord's guidance.

No sir, I was addressing how they (though they probably don't even believe in God) say God hates homosexuals, and things like that, things which most professing Christians would disagree with them on. However, in that respect, they're right, at least in the (professed) belief, though not in how they carry it out, as they're fakes and perverts.

Forgive me if I wasn't clear enough. Hope this took care of things.

God must love such people, otherwise they could not be saved.

1 Corr.6:9 ¶ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

There is a man in our church who has cancer. They recently took him off all treatment except painkillers as he was not strong enough to take anymore. He was told recently that it has spread to his lungs. He has bad days but has been to church for the last three or four Sunday mornings, having been hardly able to get out of his chair for a couple of months.before that.
