Members Saved IFB
Has anyone been involved in this? I like the concept, and it seems as though it is spreading throughout many Churches. http://www.reformu.com/ Edited November 19, 2010 by Saved IFB
Members DennisD
My father-in-law got over his gambling addiction through a church program called Celebrate Recovery. I'm not sure if it's similar but thank God for the program that helped out my FIL.

It looks like this is another program but with the same concept as Reformers Unanimous : http://www.celebraterecovery.com.au/ Edited November 19, 2010 by Saved IFB
Administrators HappyChristian Posted November 19, 2010 Administrators Share Posted November 19, 2010 Our church has an RU program and we have seen many people helped through it. One family I'm thinking of, both spouses were major drug addicts, and losing their kids. God intervened, they got saved and are now clean and growing in Christ. Members LindaR
Really? That is great. It looks like this is another program but with the same concept as Reformers Unanimous : http://www.celebraterecovery.com.au/ Celebrate Recovery was started by Saddleback Church...Rick Warren's "Purpose Driven" church....that fact by itself sends up red flags. Basically, Celebrate Recovery is a "Christianized" 12 step program...however CR uses "Eight Recovery Principles based on the BEATITUDES" by Rick Warren IMHO, RU and CR are not the same. Members sfspurlock
I don't have any personal experience with RU but a friend of mine at another church says theirs is going wonderfully well for drug addicts. I haven't seen anything work except for Christ with these addictions.
Members Melodys
I go to RU every Friday. Its really great, but geared more toward people who don't know much about God or salvation.
Members 1Timothy115
It appears Bro. Curington has a needed ongoing ministry and I believe God is blessing the work.
Administrators Pastor Matt Posted May 2, 2011 Administrators Share Posted May 2, 2011 RU is a great program. I agree with Melodys that it is more geared toward the unsaved and those that do not know much about Christ.
Members manofconviction
I am involved in RU here. Great program (even for the long saved) it is intense discipleship and the books drive the student to dissect and define as well as scripture memorization. Several other local churches have students attending our classes on Friday until those churches can start their own. Compliments the jail ministry nicely.
