Catholic Persecution of Christians

Can anyone link a few good sites that go through the history of the Catholic church persecuting the earlier Christians? Those that were called Anabaptists and before that? A website that has references would be preferred but not necessary per say.

It was the political factions of Rome that persecuted people not so much the church.

Yes, I can give you a site , just click on, its the Baptist Pillar, & the RCC did much persecution  they tried their best to keep the Bible out of the hands of all who were not leaders in the RCC, they wanted it so that anyone who wanted to know anything about God & Jesus to have to come to them.

They beat people, dragged them out of their homes, burned them at the stake, they would burn up any records they had, or writing of the Bible.

They're desire was to be the leader of this world, to wipe out the church started by Christ, as well as the one his apostles founded.

Of course they now claim they did not do it, that it was someone else, & many people fall for that, along with all the false teachings they hand out.

The day is coming, yay, it might already be here, that calling yourself a Baptist won't mean a thing. You'll have to call yourself a KJVO bible believer to get the message through concerning where you stand.

We are pretty close to that day, and may be in some places. There are so many varieties of Baptists today, and not only that but such a wide variety of views believed and practiced even from Baptists  within certain groupings such as SBC and IFB. One can walk into an IFB church and hear the Word read from a KJB, hear solid biblical preaching, sing some biblical hymns...and one can also walk into an IFB church and hear an MV being read from, hear watered down preaching and sing some modern chorus over and over.

We are already nearing or at the point where saying a church or individual is IFB isn't enough anymore, there needs to be statements added to that in order to distinquish just what sort of IFB one is. At some point the biblically sound IFB churches will have to add some clarifying term to their name or come up with a new name to identify by because most other IFB churches will become like many of the SBC churches, or worse.

That's actually incorrect.  It was more the political factions of Rome that persecuted people the most not the RCC.  The Catholic church feared more that the scriptures would become distorted.  Which actually did happen.  There are a so many different Churches today with little to lots of doctrinal differences in between.  So in a very real way the scriptures were distorted.

Islam actually has fewer divisions in it than Christianity.

The Anabaptists were persecuted by the papists.

The problem with the RCC was not with distorting the scriptures but was with establishing traditions and commandments of men that weakened the scriptures. The is no SOLA SCRIPTURE in the papacy.

Guess you haven't seen the skulls in the dungeons of their churches?  Those were political groups of priests who burned countless men and women at the stake and drowned their children right outside their church doors?

The early church began with rituals and traditions and the Catholic church simply adopted them  They are mentioned in the first century didache.  It's Jewish tradition that was frowned upon by the Apostles.  Not Church tradition.

I remember reading about the cages hanging outside of some of their cathedrals where in the past they would keep Anabaptists until they starved to death.  Here's a photo of one:

Now you are pulling things out of your hat. The Catholic Church adopted pagan rituals. The Didache was rejected by the early church and lost for centuries. Why should I trust that anymore than the Gospel of Judas?

When Muhammad was going around in his caravans, they would enter walled cities demanding that people convert or be... beheaded.

Then just outside the city gates they would pile those heads.  Outside the city gate of Bahgdad...80,000 skulls.

Islam has murdered more Christians in the last 15 years than in all of history.  One million is the Sudan between 1998-99.

Thank God for the Crusades and Charles Martel for without them all of Christianity in Europe could have been wiped out.
