The Art of Procrastination

Procrastination takes tact,
And a lot of thought,
One must be careful,
Not to get caught!

It may start with a cough,
Or a quiet groan,
Or even an hour or so
On the telephone.

A “busy day”
Is the chant of the man
Who tries to get out of
All that he can!

He spends his time thinking
Of ways to get out,
Of the chores at hand,
And others, no doubt.

But it takes an artist,
To perfect the game;
One with experience
And an ill-fame.

One who “knows the ropes”
And pulls the right strings;
Gets his jollies when he
Gets out of doing things!

Yes, procrastination is an art,
And I am an artist supreme;
A list of excuses a mile long
With a smile, a wish, and a dream.

But delay is not always bad,
Sometimes it comes in handy;
When to act too fast is spurious,
And safety is always quite dandy!

It has been said,
Sometimes with sorrow;
"Why do today,
What can be put 0ff til tomorrow?"

Ha! Me too Jerry, although i have to admit, i have guilty of it at times when I should not have been! Thank God that He didn't put off my appointment at Calvary though!!

I've been guilty of doing that which I know not to do many times, and sad to say it seems not to have fully left me yet.
