Members Anon
Okay for those of you in or near Lancaster (PE? haha, ok try to think like a lady!) I am planning a ladies overnight to Lancaster Pa this summer. I know for sure I'm going to try to get a nice hotel or something on Priceline...and on the Saturday we are going to do the Tabernacle. However the Friday afternoon before, I wanted to do something nice and then a nice dinner. I thought about outlet malls but eh....maybe something more unusual would be better. And then not Shady Maple for dinner, as our church is doing that, I think, at another date. I also want to do brunch before the Tabernacle. Any ideas? I'm not super familiar with Lancaster...a friend of mine mentioned Hershey but I don't think I want to go all the way out there this time, especially if we are doing the Tabernacle. I want to keep it simple as this will be our first overnight and I'm not even sure how much interest I'll have. Thanks!

Members Anon
Well...our church did that one year.... I wanted something a little cheaper and a little more "girly" for this time...something maybe like "shopping" but more of an "experience" than just an outlet mall...something maybe more Amish or maybe buggy rides or, well, I really don't know what's out there. And then a nice but not too expensive dinner.

This sounds wunnnnnnnnnnnerful-good, Kitagrl. :Green :thumb I would recommend Hershey Farms Restaurant over Shady Maple Smorgasbord. They are immediately next door to the Sight and Sound new Millenium Theater. Please click on the link below::::::::::::http://www.hersheyfarm.com/ We also have tons of stuff to see and do. I would not recommend the American Music Theater, even though that is top-drawer quality but it is secular, and who wants that. :thumbdown Please click on the link below::::::::http://www.hersheyfarm.com/index.php?pID=
Members Anon
Thanks! I'll check it out! I have Barlet checking for things for me too. :-) I'm looking more along the lines of quaint shopping/horse buggy rides?.... etc rather than theaters or shows. I'm sure everybody will love it except me LOL...I'm so not a garden person, unfortunately! Sounds like something the other ladies would like though. If you want craft places in Penn-Dutch country then you could try the quilting shops. Please click here:::::::http://www.theoldcountrystore.com/the-o ... e-home.php Shady Maple has a huge quilt-and-supply shop in their basement. The beauty of quilts is that the craft lends itself well to other types of (sewing) crafts as well. As far as the culinary arts check out The Kitchen Kettle. Please click here::::::::::http://kitchenkettle.com/kitchenkettle/iecstore.html ...and,http://www.intercoursecanning.com/group.html

Is it big enough to spend an hour or two? I just can't see myself going to the second one. LOL. Whoever named those towns out there...but I refrain. I was going to do the Shady Maple but I think our church is going there this year and I wanted to find something different.
Members Anon
You know I'm seriously going to think about that Kitchen Kettle. How fun! I wonder if we'll have too many ladies to use their accomodations...

I wonder if we'll have too many ladies to use their accomodations... I promise you that they can accomodate all of you, and their place has oooodles of things on their tours. Not only that but the tour is interactive; you get to taste things as you go through it.

I dunno, I looked online and I don't think they have room for all of us (depending on how many go)...they seemed fairly strict about how many people are in the rooms, and it might be above our budget too. We'll see!

It was very fine indeed. :Green :thumb Then we went to the Strasburg Railroad after that.
